Drippers and plants (Veiled Cham)

I had a quick question to ask about dripper systems and live plants. I haven't quite figured out this website, so posting questions is a bit quicker for me:

1. Do a large majority of you guys/gals use the "Big Dripper" or "Little Dripper"? I have read some harsh reviews on it, but wanted to know what you guy/gals thought of it. I need something that will drip a little longer than my plastic cup, and something I can control the water flow on. What about any other brands? I cant afford a automatic mister.

2. I have to put live plants in my cage. What is a common, readily available plant I can buy at the local nursery?

Thanks

i have live plants in mine and i have found that the little dripper only lasts for an hour or so. so instead of using any drip method i just mist the whole cage about 3 times a day. he drinks from the leaves every time and he is still a healthy little fella

I made my own dripper using one of the many how to's in these forums - you can even make a small dripper out of a small tupperware container by making a small hole on the lid and a tack hole at the bottom- has worked great for me and I get just the right amount of drips out of it. I still however find alot of value in misting my cage.

As for live plants, I find that you can readily find many types of Ficus and Pothos at the nursery. I also have a few large Bonsai's that I have in the study that I can let them free range on occasion. If you have plenty of light you can even flower it up with some Hibiscus which are relatively cheap $4.50 or so.

Just be careful on some plants if your little guy is a plant either, some are irritating or harmful if swallowed. http://is.gd/cImT9 is a great list of dangerous plants for Herps.

I use the little dripper and it works ok, but i rarely seem my cham drinking from it. If you use the hose it falls off rather easily and makes it a little harder to adjust.

I have the little dripper and it has been faring well so far (2 days, haha). I just have to adjust it once it is about halfway empty since the pressure changes.

If you are tight on money don't bother with buying something pre-made. Get a larger container and poke a hole or two on the bottom and a hole on the top and you are good to go. You could also do something a little fancier with some tubing.
