You can try the just molted white ones, chams seem to like them more. Also if your chams are big enough, they like the adult males with wings.
its just the baby chams... my chams wont touch them at all until she was about 4 months old then she starts munching on them like pigs
My panther Gimo would avoid them like the plauge for about 5-6 months, Literally would be smashing crickets one after another from a cup and I would throw in a dubia and he owuld look at me likt WTF!!
Then one day he switched, now he doesnt et crickets JUST dubia and his worm of course.
I would just grow your colony and wait for the day.
Or get some more chams, One is bound to eat them
IM getting mixed results since switching. He will hand feed dubia, so he gets one before i leave for work. Then one when i get home. Then i try a cup but at best he eats 2 in a row since they bunch together and then stop moving.
Ive had the best luck with:
upside down wigglers
black dubia in a white ceramic bowl
screen crawlers
I dont have good results in the sunny-d death trap.
Sometimes i've heard members flipping their dubias upside down so they move around a bit more. Maybe this could work?
Jasper doesn't really go for them either unless I throw a fat adult dubia infront of him.
For all of the chams that wont eat them here is a little trick that is used.
Take the roach and pull its hind legs off, the real long and sharp ones. It weakens them from running off and hiding. Then put them by hand on the screen either the top or the walls of the enclosure and back off. I've also found that the chams don't seem to like them dusted (for some reason). I used to dust everything but I've back off from dusting roaches and they like them more it seems. Just pull the hind legs off and you will see for yourself how sharp they are (imagine how your cham must feel swallowing something this sharp).
Just my two cents. Hope this is helpful to all of you that have invested in your roach colony. They are great feeders, and just have to be modified some. Let me know if this helps!!
You can also put a cricket or superworm in the cup they will often bug the dubia and keep it moving
