Enticing cham to eat

I once saw a tv program where the show host used some warm chicken broth on a dead rat to enitce his pet snake to eat, something about the scent of chicken really drives the snake into an immediate feeding frenzy. not sure how accurate that is but is there anything like that that can be used or work similarly with a cham?

from what I have learned on here chams do not have a great sense of smell so I don't think that would work. So you are having problems with your chameleon eating then?

yes, I have two chams, a 1 yr old male vieled and a male jackson of undeterminate age. the jackson usually empties out his cage of crix and hornworms every week while the viel will just look at his food and ignore it, no matter if its a cricket, worm, roach or even fruit. most of the feeders i put in his cage usually die off from drowning or starvation. he will occasionally eat some wax worms that i place in his feeding cup but only a couple at a time, nothing substanial IMO. not sure what else to do.

sometimes they will just go through periods where they dont want to eat. I took in a male panther about 3 months ago and he did not eat for 12 days. Now granted he was acclimating to his new home and all but my other cham has gone on hunger strikes too. How long has it been since he ate? As long as he is drinking, I would not worry too much yet. Don't offer anything for 2 or 3 days and then see if then he might eat.

try crushing cricktes and mealworm together or somethigng like that touch his lips with it and maybe he will take it
