Escaped Corn Snake

I didnt really wanna make a post about this but the fact that my friend's corn snake escaped the night before he had to travel back home with her is gnawing on my insides. Long story short, he brought the snake over to my place for a vet checkup since I live way closer to one of Sweden's most reputable reptile vets but the night before the trip back to southern Sweden the snake escaped the bin it was housed as a temporarily solution since I dont have any spare terrariums. The snake obv didnt like us taking out its hide for the trip the day after so it manage to squeeze itself out of the bin. Pretty impressive if you ask me but... Not very good for her owner who had to leave w/o her.
It feels like I've been looking everywhere but apparently I have not since the snake is still gone even a week after her owner left. He advised me to buy a frozen mouse and leave it on the floor to hopefully lure out the snake. Typically she loves food but the mouse is starting to dry and no snake have been sighted.
I thought I should ask if you guys have any smart idea to lure the snake out or just something you feel like I should know.
I've been turning of some of the radiators just in case the snake might get the idea to crawl into one where she cant be seen or reached. I have one mobile radiator turned on tho, one that she cant get stuck in, I was hoping maybe it would attract her but I havent been lucky there either.. Would be nice to find her before the dogs do or if she decide to explore the rabbit cage and get hurt.

The snake in question is a 3 year old corn snake so not that small but apparently not big enough
 
One meter at most but I am not certain. I would be surprised if there was rats etc. in the walls but I know there's mice living in the garage which you cant really enter w/o stepping outside in the Swedish winter which I doubt. And ofc that one dead mouse thats been lying on a plate on the floor since the day we found out she was gone
 
Well normally snakes of all likes prefer live so he probably won't go after the dead mouse but he won't go near your pets either. It sounds like he's only capable of downing something like a large mouse or small rat. My friend has had a problem with her reticulated python measuring her by stretching out next to her. Snakes normally know what they can and can't eat. I hope you find the snake and best of luck.
 
Was hoping the smell would lure her out but well.. And yes that is what she usually eats from what I understand. Hopefully yeah. Can just imagine her getting curious about the bunny and then the bunny end up hurting her since he got size advantage.

That happened to me 3 weeks before I went off to college. My corn snake got out! My mom would have flipped...we didn't tell her. I had tried to lure him out with a live mouse that we placed in a container that he could get in but the mouse couldn't get out. Didn't work, we just gained a mouse pet. 3 weeks later, I found him in bottom desk drawer as I was packing for college.
 
Good you found your snake at least! :) I keep hearing these crazy stories about escaped snakes found in weird places. Cant wait until I found this snake somewhere, that would make my friend so happy!

I'm glad I did! It did scare the crap out of me though as I opened the drawer quick and wasn't expecting to see him. It wasn't that far away from his tank, thankfully. I think the one you lost will go somewhere fairly close and hunker down.
 
Oh man that happened to me last year. My 7 year old corn snake got out because I had a few drinks and was showing it to my little nephews, I went to put her back and didn't close his tank properly, when I went to sleep I noticed he wasn't there and myou sliding door that leads to the backyard was open. 2 hours later I found him in a corner in the closet after I emptied it out almost crying. He's never gotten out after that lol
 
From my experience they usually don't travel far. They find a nice space to hunker down. Try a thorough search everywhere within 10 feet of escape.
 
Is there a bed or a sofa in the room? I would even look inside, you know how beds an sofas have a space on the bottom that is covered by fabric, almost like a hammock? There are many ways into that space.
 
I had a corn snake escape once. He was missing for 3 days, and we had 4 dogs at the time. Finally, I found him quite by accident, hiding under the hot-water-heat register. So look in and around places like heat vents/ducts, also near water, and around your reptile cages. She can go for at least 2 weeks between feedings, but I would keep a mouse out. Just switch it out from time to time. See if you can trap it somehow (like a humane rat trap?) I'm sure it will show up, or you will find some indication that it is alive soon. (Like a shed or poop.) Also, look around electronics and appliances. They give off heat, too. And don't discount any small/tiny places. If they an get their head through, they can get their body through.

Poop then. Should be able to smell that at least! Too bad she just had her shed before the escape
