Someone needs to selectively breed crickets so that the males have to short wings or whatever to chirp! I bet they'd make some serious cash!
The crickets i get from my local pet place are silent

I use a cricket keeper, mine is larger than this, but the crickets crawl up the tubes and you just slide out the tube and shake them into the bag for dusting

What kind of diet are you using? Mealworms? Waxworms? Silkworms? Just wondering. The sooner he's on a worm based diet the better! I have no problems with worms!
I think since getting reptiles I have gained several species of spider (daddy long legs and jumping spider, maybe a few others...) and some house geckos.

Alright. Silks, horns, and phoenix worms are all find and dandy, but too much of them is not necessarily a good thing.
My veiled has a similar situation with his tongue, (he came to me that way). I hate to harm anything, but tonight I beared up and cut the legs off the crickets with fingernail clippers, they came off pretty easy. I made him a clear feeder dish awhile ago, and he really went after the crickets tonight. It was totally gross taking off the legs, but he is worth it!

LOL! The house geckos are from outside that manage to find their way inside to eat the escapees. I do not keep the spiders on purpose!Syn, how many critters do you have now??? Are the house geckos new??? Pretty soon you're going to have your own mini zoo..lol!!![]()

As for how many critters I own, a lot.
Luckily most are cresteds, though, and my cricket bill isn't too bad.
