ok. so i know that Veileds and Panthers cannot mate and all that jazz. im well aware of the species and genus differences and everything. but aparently zip is not. this little dude just earlier today got away from free range and to the cricket keeper and had a feast. well my friends stopped by and i was showing off my cham collection and i put zip in his cage to walk them out and didnt close the door like i thought i did and when i came back in he was ontop of Barnaby's (our Adult MALE VEILED) cage and was doing his little mating dance..... dear god. hahah. he is too funny

first time no i didnt. my fiance got home so i told him about it and he didnt believe me so i put zip in the spot and he started doing it again... my fiance said "zip are you gay? its gonna be hard to find you a gf then" hahaha :'D
the cages are all next to each other but zips cage is home made so the door has issues and i was too busy w my friends to pay attention to whether it was closed. i walked them out to their car and came back and went to make sure everything was put away and then i found him up there.... he is our only interesting cham i swear lol. the others dont do this kind of stuff.

Hopefully it was not a mating response, but more of an aggressive response toward another male chameleon. You can easily tell the difference by the Sparkle in his eye.

As the owner of two gay tortoises, I think you should just learn to accept his preferences. If you can't, send him to me in NY, where his love is legally protected ;)

My Female Senegal and Male veiled have a secret love affair. No matter how far I move them from each other my male finds my female. They have a strange realtionship. Don't think my Senegal digs my veiled as much as he digs her.

hehehe,I think gay animals exist to teach us humans that's it just a natural phenomenon, & they're looking at us & saying, "there u go, we do it too, so what's the problem?"

That's pretty funny! Reminds me of a similar situation when I was little. We had a male Yorkie named Nippy.. on more than one occasion my parents attempted to breed him, bringing over the prettiest Yorkie girlfriends. He'd see the girls and avoid them by all means possible, growling and barking to scare them away! A few years later we moved and there was a neighborhood cat that came around often, my parents would feed him and bring him in if it was cold, eventually adopting him. Well Nippy fell madly in love with the cat!! (who was also male) It was the funniest thing ever! We'd come home and find Nippy humping the cat!! The cat didn't seem to mind though... they'd cuddle and sleep together, follow each other around.. it was crazy but cute! I guess love knows no bounds :p

My male veiled escaped one day and found my male panther's free range. My panther was really laid back and didnt care about other chameleons for the most part so he just sat there. (i only arrived at the very end of this encounter) Apparently because of the panthers relaxed green colors, my veiled thought he would be a good girlfriend. Once he hopped on, the panther started turning red and the veiled realized his mistake. He was MAD! He nipped the base of the panthers tail just as I got there and huffed and puffed his way to the other side of the free range. :)

If you want funny, imagine a Male Parsonii doing the head bob for a female Campanii (spelling?) ......

That was why my old Critter was named Hormone.
