Experience with Kammerflage pre-orders?

After doing a ton of research on breeders I finally ended up going with kammerflage because of all the great things I have heard about them. I pre ordered an ambilode male said to be born Feb 19-20 and estimated to be ready for may/june. I wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with pre ordering a baby from there and could tell me what age they sent your cham to you. I amm just trying to get an estimate if it would be sooner in may rather than later so I can be ready to get my feeder insects. Also because I am super excited lol. I reached out to them through their email and phone number a little while back and have yet to get any responses which is a little dissapointing considering a big reason I went with them was because of how much praise their customer service got. I thought I would come on here and see If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

I just purchased from them within the last month. I really didn’t get many replies via email either, I had to go to social to communicate with them. My baby was very healthy. He was originally a pre-order but I got him right as he was becoming available for normal sale, he was just over 3 months. Born around Jan 22 and arrived in my home May 1. They will contact you a couple days or so prior to shipment to confirm date and location.

This is a family owned business and I know they just dealt with a family emergency. I have a feeling this is why you have not heard from them. I know they will send an email approximately 10 days prior so that you have 7-10 days to be ready. I would just follow back up with them.

They actually just got back to me this morning thanks I would be happy to do a husbandry review. I have spent the last month putting all this together I’m pretty proud of the end result


Cage Info:

• Cage Type - 24x24x48 dyicages screen enclosure. I added window insulation film the 4 sides while leaving a part of the bottom door and roof screen for airflow.

• Lighting - I have an arcadia 6 percent linear uvb bulb positioned to hit my basking branches in a range of 3 percent uvb and lower which I measure with a slammer 6.5r. Nowhere at the top of my enclosure is there uv readings of over 7 in case of screen climbing. I have an arcadia hallogen heat bulb in a deep dome fixture. I also have a jungle dawn led bar for my plants. The lights come on at 8 am and turn off at 8 pm

• Temperature - The temps in my enclosure range from about 85 86 F at the highest and 72 at the lowest during the day. The basking branch reads anywhere from 81-86 F during the day. The top area of my enclosure that is less planted is around 74-75 F during the day. Towards the bottom and in the back behind the large pothos is around 72 F during the day.The lowest overnight temp i have seen is 63 and usualoly ranges form 64-70 F. I measure themn with a infrared laser thermometer and a digital hygrometer/thermoter with readers placed throughout the cage.

• Humidity - My humidity levels during the day vary from high 30s to mid 50s% during the day. Living in a dry desert daytime humidity has been my biggest struggle to mainain. I am still working on figuring out when to add short daytime mistings to keep it in the 50s but have heard mixed things about misting during the day. At night I get the humidity to over 70 with a priming misting when the lights go off and one around midnight before my fogger comes on which will run through the night. I use a digital hygrometer with readers placed throughout my cage. I use a mist king for my mister.

• Plants - I have a large golden pothos, a marble queen pothos, an umbrella tree, a maidenhair fern, and a tornado dracaena

• Placement - My cage is located in my room with a fan overhead but the fan is hardly used. I am ususally the only one who is in here so not a high traffic area. The cage is on top of a shelving unit and the top is about 7 feet from the floor of my room. The top of the cage stands about a foot above my head.

• Location - I am located in El Paso TX

I don’t have the first part I filled this one out in another post I made and copied it over here. The first part has to do with your chameleon specifically no? I have a plan for everything and was planning on posting a full version of the form when I finally get my little dude!

Just remember your levels will change based on the time of year. You may need to pull all of the film off the entire service door to allow for more airflow based on your ambient room conditions.

Nowhere at the top of my enclosure is there uv readings of over 7 in case of screen climbing. I have an arcadia hallogen heat bulb in a deep dome fixture. I also have a jungle dawn led bar for my plants. The lights come on at 8 am and turn off at 8 pm. Perfect...

I measure themn with a infrared laser thermometer and a digital hygrometer/thermoter with readers placed throughout the cage. I would reduce basking just slightly closer to 80-82 for a baby. With your basking make sure that if baby gets up on the top screen it is not too hot. They screen climb quite a bit when they are young and it is easy for them to get a thermal burn if you do not have the basking fixture lifted far enough away or if the bulb wattage/type is too strong. Everything else looks great.

• Humidity - My humidity levels during the day vary from high 30s to mid 50s% during the day. Living in a dry desert daytime humidity has been my biggest struggle to mainain. I am still working on figuring out when to add short daytime mistings to keep it in the 50s but have heard mixed things about misting during the day. At night I get the humidity to over 70 with a priming misting when the lights go off and one around midnight before my fogger comes on which will run through the night. I use a digital hygrometer with readers placed throughout my cage. I use a mist king for my mister. For daytime misting in a dry climate with hybrid style set up you will find running a morning misting about 15 minutes after lights kick on and then one in the late afternoon is very helpful. I am in AZ so I deal with the same issue.

• Plants - I have a large golden pothos, a marble queen pothos, an umbrella tree, a maidenhair fern, and a tornado dracaena perfect.

• Placement - My cage is located in my room with a fan overhead but the fan is hardly used. I am ususally the only one who is in here so not a high traffic area. The cage is on top of a shelving unit and the top is about 7 feet from the floor of my room. The top of the cage stands about a foot above my head. Sounds good. The only thing I would add to your setup is a pc fan sitting on top of the cage pulling air up and out of the top. It helps cycle the air in the cage quite a bit. I run mine 24/7. Just make sure it is not sitting right next to where your fog comes in or it will pull it up and out as well. I have mine in a back corner.
