Experiences Keeping Juvenile Parson’s?

It’s been a while since I have been on but a lot has happened since I have been away.

I upgraded Salomon’s enclosure to now have a Schefflera as its new home.

Fingers crossed it goes well!

Sorry I’ve been MIA…

I’ll repost from Facebook ALMOST a year ago (July 8th),

“I’ve been diagnosed with stage 2 Adrenocortical carcinoma. Doctor’s have told us that my cancer is incredibly rare and very aggressive. Even now I am still processing what my new normal will be as I don’t know what healing for me will be. Just send my wife and family wishful thoughts. Do yourself a favor and also listen to your body.”

Life has been a whirlwind BUT Salomon is still growing! He’s practically a kitten haha.

Hope you all are well ❤️🎗️🤘.

Keep your head up. My aunt has gone through multiple surgeries for throat cancer and is battling her condition right now. Support is incredibly important. Keep battling till you have got the cancer wooped!

Plus take care of your Calumma parsonii parsonii.

Best Regards

So very sorry to hear that you have cancer. As everyone has said…stay strong…I think attitude is very important.

Take good care of your chameleon…it may help you keep strong.

My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Hugs and good wishes to you.
I’ll try a to snag a picture of Salomon tomorrow, with my wife’s help of course.

He’s also shedding so he’s usually a little more grumpy to handle when to trying to manage.

Wow, missed this somehow, but he's amazingly beautiful. How are you at the moment?
Hey Sonny,

Thank you for checking in. I’m doing okay through chemo however a lot has changed in a matter of days.

A pipe leak and outage caused black mold to form in my apartment before the landlords could arrive to fix everything. We had to keep windows open over night (so I could breathe) while trying to keep him warm but unfortunately I found him really lethargic in the morning due to the cold so I rushed to our vet asap.

Salomon passed away in my wife and I’s hands yesterday once he was declared brain dead. We were nonstop crying as he’s only ever been my boy pet and I can no longer have children…

I am incredibly heartbroken over him and I know it was my fault but I am just so upset that the I couldn’t respond in time…

I’m so terrible sorry to read this and that he passed away, RIP handsome Salomon, may you watch over your family from your cloud tree and enjoy your yummy bugs 🙏🏻💚. I know you that it hard on yourself, everyone, would do, but low temps wouldn’t the direct reason. They normally should withstand some low temps. In which it wasn’t your fault and there’s nothing to blame yourself, these were unfortunate circumstances coming together.
Still I’m happy you’re doing fine, except the grieving part. Keep your head up and don’t let this turn your back to this beautiful hobby, you’re a great keeper and we all lost a cham in our journey.

Seeing this for the first time, I wanted to say I can’t imagine dealing with all of that. Really wish you the best. I also don’t think you should blame yourself for your boy passing(who was beautiful btw). They have been known to easily withstand temps into the low 40s and even high 30s. If it was true toxic black mold(I’ve heard it takes a long time for the actual dangerous stuff to show up) that could have been the culprit. Not your fault either way by the sounds of it, just an unfortunate event. Hoping things improve for you.

Sorry I wrote that post very late at night - very much out of it and exhausted. I would like to if the opportunity ever comes around.

I just will miss opening him up to see his beautiful little eyes for the first time.
