Does anyone know where I can buy a screen aluminum cage over 48"? I would love to build it for my lil man "Thor", but I dont have the time and room to build it (no garage). I dont need anything fancy, just a large cage for him to have space to run and skip..lol

im not sure of anywhere that has any off the top of my head, but a 2'x2'x4' is plenty of room for them

yeah you can go with the reptarium but its not aluminum screen like you mentioned, its more so a zippered mesh cage...i have a few smaller ones that work fine, just a pain in the ass zipping and unzipping, i just prefer having a door that swings open...i havent used one of the bigger reptariums but i feel like they would be flimsy...like i said, if you want to go big, build it, that way you know how sturdy it will be and you can cutomize it to your needs

I bought a 24x48x48 from Robert at www.screencages.com He'll do custom sizes as well. He seemed like a good guy on the phone and the cage is great. Also the new forum sponsor, Protean terrariums, makes huge cages out of glass... they look pretty nice too. Cheers!

I agree... I say build it .. It's fairly easy... I used a few of the build threads here & some videos from YouTube and added a few of my own ideas and just built 4 cages in the last few weeks.. I would say even those of us who arent incredibly handy can go start to finish in just a few hours... I'm a world-class procrastinator so they take me a few days but honestly its just a few hours... They're inexpensive and easy to do ..I recomend it .. .

Sorry for the delayed response, but I've decided to build the cage myself. I wanted to build it with PVC coated mesh, but they only carry 1/2" size and that means the feeders will be sleepining with me..ha :)

I was thinking of putting the green pvc inside the cage and aluminum mesh on the outside. I've heard someone mention that, but I wasnt sure on how to go by it. Any ideas?

You could do it two ways...build your main cage using the PVC coated mesh as the primary "walls" that are anchored to the frame and attach panels of aluminum screen to the outside of the frame (staple gun, zip ties, screws, whatever you wish). Or, do the opposite: build the cage using the aluminum screen as the primary walls and attach the PVC coated mesh to the inside of each wall with zip ties to provide the cham safer places to climb.

teah if your going for something that big building it, although it may be a pain, will save you a lot of money. Plus you can make it any specific size you want.

That was my goal. I want to make it as comfortable and stress free for my lil man. I have the plans ready and I will start it this weekend. I will post pics after I finish :) Wish me luck:D
