Eye infection?

I havent caught up but I have a female who has reoccuring issues with her eyes (keratin buildup). I took her to the vet numerous times over a year requesting her eyes be flushed, and it was always “something else.” Finally the 4th vet (not kidding) knew how to and finally flushed her eyes. In 10 minutes they got the buildup out and gave her vit a shot.

Its been 2 or so years but shes having issues again. Same standard supplementation as the other 9 chams, she just has different needs. I’m sure Beman and MissSkittles got your husbandry reviewed, but its worth vet visit to check his vit a and get his eyes flushed. Its an outpatient process.

I also keep emergency first aid saline wash tubes on hand. I use them somewhat often between 10 animals. It seems like once a month one has an itchy eye or shed Stuck or irritating them. Its been helpful to lubricate their eyes to help soften and work it out. Not the same as the real flush the vet will do, but similiar idea.
There is nothing visible to me obstructing his eye. I showed him the videos I took of the deep blinking he's been doing and it's only the 1 eye. He's eating and drinking like normal. He also told me to give him his vitamins every other week just for the next 4 weeks.

Thats what I was told as well but there was def keratin blocking her eye duct. Does he have a bump in the corner of his eye ar all or puffiness in the corner? I have a thread called flushing eyes that has pics of my girl.

Either way, the saline is a solid investment and is easy to apply to help lubricate and possibly push out whatever is irritating his eye. This is what I use (regularly):

Reliance Medical 901 Sterile Saline Eyewash 20 mL Ampoules, Plastic (Pack of 25) https://a.co/d/2T5HG3U

Also just t5 not 5.0 my phone auto corrected it
What strength and brand is the bulb? T5 is the fixture strength.
I've been taking him to Dr. Garner at Safari animal clinic. So far they've been really helpful. He seems to know what he's doing, he's not afraid to handle him at all. I went ahead and enrolled in a plan. It's only $15 a month and it includes 12 office visits and I've already brought him 4 times lol.
If you don't mind me asking, what were the 4 visits for? Because if they're connected, you might want to switch vets if some weren't follow-ups. Do you know how thorough he was in investigating Picasso's eye? Because like @snitz427 I went to multiple cham vets until I found Dr. Pacheco, who was the only one that too me seriously. She's the best with eye issues. If you want, we can review your husbandry to see if it'll cut down on vet visits, as that's very stressful for chams.

Multivitamins should be given every other week for the lifetime of the chameleon. Did he say why to stop the multivitamins after the 4 weeks?

Have you shown the crystals to the vet? Unfortunately that is all I can really think of. As for the roaches have you tried feeding them to him 1 by 1? My chameleon wouldn't eat them out of a bowl but when I placed one on a branch and it crawled away, he went after it then.

I have tried and done that yes. But as soon as I got on the forums again the feeling went away! Idk how or why but I feel way better! I also messaged my good friends framschams and asked them the same question and they have been so helpful, I would totally recommend buying chams from them! Also Lonestar panthers his yt vids are awesome.

Anyways thanks for consistently helping me everyone! It's been more than a year and you guys still care so much! I would not be the same if it wasn't for you guys.🤗

I’m willing to bet the crystals are keratin buildup (often vit a related). Look up reptile keratin buildup eyes and you’ll find pics for comparison.

A vet can quickly flush their eyes to fix this (although it took 3 vets before someone listened to me and actually flushed them). 15 min visit and no sedatives. My vet also gave a vit a shot at that time. I’ve moved my cham with similar issues outside for natural sunlight and her issues greatly improved (after vet visits and supplement changes, of course).

Some chams just react differently to certain supplements and diets - just like people. So make sure your supplement schedule is on point and then try a different MV, if it is. And outside time as much as possible.
