Hello! I have a similar problem for about six months. Mine secreats a clear mucus and then it dries off, and he brushess it off with the branches in the enclosure but his eye didn’t swolen. It just makes “waves”. The vet gave me some drops foe his eye but that didn’t work. I feed him with plain calcium and twice a week spliments. I had a topic about this also. If I find out something that helps mine, I’ll let you know!I have a veiled chameleon who's 1.5 years old. I've had him since he was a few weeks old. About a year ago, he started rubbing his left eye and rolling it around alot. It has clear mucus in it. I wipe it everyday. I carried him to the vet. He put him on oral antibiotics and antibiotic eye drops. Also told me to use eye wash. Carried him back to the vet multiple times, switched mess and it still didn't get any better. His casque became swollen, switched vets and she put him on antibiotics both oral and antibiotic eye drops. He went to her for several months and didn't get any better. She said he had conjunctivitis. No blood work was done. I then switched him to another vet who did do blood work. He didn't have any infection but his liver levels were a little high from a year of taking antibiotics. His right is now starting to bother him. He rolls it around alot. He's in dragon strand hybrid enclosure. I have a reptisun t5 light on his cage. Basking temp between around 86 degrees. An automatic mister that goes off every 4 hours for 2 minutes each during the day. I'm swamped as to what is going on. The vets have no idea as to what's going on. He gets calcium without vitamin d everyday and calcium with vitamin d every two weeks. He also gets vitamix every two weeks.
Hi Beman. I just noticed what looks like a hole in front of Loki's eye. It's right behind his nostril. Please see pics and let me know what you think it could be.You want to remove the 12pm. You do not want a long mid day misting it is going to increase humidity way too much with the lighting being on.
Hi MissSkittles. He won't eat crickets. It is possible that he poked it on a branch. Thank you for replying.Hi. I’m not @Beman but maybe I can offer a bit of help. I haven’t read the entire thread…just your current post. Do you feed crickets by chance? It looks like possibly a tiny cricket bite, which they will do if they escape being eaten and get hungry. If not that, is there anything he could have poked it on? Has he shed his head lately? Maybe while running to get shed off he got poked.
If it’s a bruise or superficial injury, it should heal up quickly. Keep watch and if it gets worse or doesn’t go away in time, you’ll need a vet.Hi MissSkittles. He won't eat crickets. It is possible that he poked it on a branch. Thank you for replying.
I'll definately keep an eye on it. Thanks again. If it’s a bruise or superficial injury, it should heal up quickly. Keep watch and if it gets worse or doesn’t go away in time, you’ll need a vet.
I would keep a very close eye on it and make sure nothing is oozing at all. Of course I over worry so I would be booking a vet appointment with a reptile specialist as well.It does look like a hole to me. Nothing is coming out of it. I checked it this morning.
