Good morning everyone!
I am still new to the chameleon family and I am wondering about chameleons' washing out their eyes. I have read numerous times in different forums/blogs that one of the important reasons to mist vs just having a dripper is so the chameleons have the opportunity to wash out their eyes. I am wondering what exactly this looks like. Do they just blink a lot once there is water on their face, or do they actually rub their eyes with their leg/foot?
I misted my little guy this morning and he scampered into the corner (I don't think he cares for this misting first thing in the morning ) but when I finished I noticed he had his eyes closed but then he would open one sort of slowly and then close it again. He did this with both eyes for at least a few minutes. He is wide wake and alert and looking around fine now.. so I am just wondering if that was him cleaning out his eyes or... maybe did I mist him in his face too much?
