I need some serious help!!! Every day its the same thing! This will be the 3rd time in a row! I go out and get 40crickets. Start to gut load them. Take out the old food. Then the next night BAM! BLACK SWARMING BOX OF HELL!!!! ANTS!!! Thousands of them!! Killing all my crickets and worms! Every day!!! How do I stop them!!!! I get a day before they find them and the repellent I spray around the box stops working!! Its driving my insane!!!! And even worse its making my poor baby miss her much needed meals!!! I don't know what to do. I don't have the gas to get her new crickets daily and even if I did, petco doesn't gut load their crickets! Every time I get them, I throw a dandelion leaf in for starters and its ATTACKED!!! So much for ordering silk worms.... Everything is dead from these ants! I'm desperate.HELP!!! I don't want to use repellent around my feeders or cham):

Glue traps (4 for $3.50) may help some. ant baits, sprays, traps can cause issues. i use ortho home defense on outside of the house every two weeks. but nothing on inside. you can try keeping crix on shelves in a closet. just be careful, i live on east coast. this summer we had rain like literally 5 days a week. caused an ant explosion for indoors, as ground could not support them. once september got here, i was under an assault from spiders that were feeding off the ants. just try your best.

Diatomaceous earth works well. I used it in the past to keep ants out of baby enclosures.

I was infested with these little buggers too!

Used boric acid powder, and in less then a week, they were all gone.
It's cheap!

You have to outsmart the ants. I use water as in a moat. What I do is fill a pan with water. I set my superworm container on the pan. Then I set my cricket bin on top of the superworm container. It is like building a little pyramid but the ants will drown if they step in the water. I keep those two feeders outside on my patio. If you can find a way to surround your feeders with water, you will turn the ants away. You don't have to use any traps or pesticides. It really works!!

I used to have an ant problem too. somehow they got all the way in my room (which is on the 4th floor of my complex) I bought a few of the raid ant traps and within one day all of the ants were gone.

I agree with carol.

I had ants infest my roach colony. I had to sit there and pick out as many roaches as I could to save the colony. Annoying as He!!

Anyway, I took the lid of my roach bin and placed it under the bin, then filled the lid with water, no more ants since they cant cross a water moat..

I tend to avoid sprays and such simply because my asthma does not do well with ant sprays and the like.

But if you can build a moat or something like that, you can protect your bugs.

I like this! I will try this out. Hopefully it works out! U wanted to avoid trapped and sprays because I have 2cats and a dog that get into things. As well as the Iguana when I have her out. So I guess this is my best bet!! Thank you!
