Faly's

So if you look at the standard Faly in the wild : http://www.pantherchameleon.de/Furcifer_pardalis_Nosy_faly
there is quite a range of coloration. Very cool. Then there is the extreme Blue/White/Red that seems to be a designer morph... Awesome colors for sure. Now, I noticed that the extreme Blue/White/Red have been coined the name "Oorana Mena". It seems as if the Nosy Faly is being split into two. Or do you think this is just the same as breeding for extreme color in any other locale? Thoughts??

There is a range of color in wc falys . Now as for Oorana Mena being a morph of a faly you are wrong the whole reasoning for that name was to cover up were the locale was found until some breeders got a head start. Oorana Mena and Nosy faly locale is two in the same there is a blue faly and a green faly yes just like there is a green Nosy be and a blue Nosy be and a green body ambanja and a blue body ambanja. Selective breeding would I think would get you what you are looking for just like true blue nosybes. I have a red white and blue wc faly pair both imported at the same time and I have a red white and greenish/blue faly with a slash female that should be carring the same color .. so I am selective breeding for both as I think and see in my wc two different defined colors. One being blue and one being more of a greenish/blue color... Just my 2 cents and opinion...

I have some babies too... I am anxious to see how they color up. I'm going to look at breeding for some extreme color for sure.

i incubate all locales at the same temps(75f)

?

so not everything depends of the sire??,,,for some reason i though if the sire has nice colors the babies will be some kind like him,,,,,and of course ur not going to share the secrets with me...

It's shared equally. Some look like the sire, some look like the moms side. And some like a mix of both. that's why you want to find parents that have similar traits in their bloodline.

I regrettably won't be able to get the last 5 minutes of my life back.:(

Hahahahahahaha!!!!!:D

It is like having a REALLY good recipe for chili or a fantastic desert...you don't wanna just give it out to everyone! In my family we make schnapps - using my Aunt Betty's Secret Recipe...it is apple pie schnapps, which everyone makes...but I never taste other's that are as good! I wont give out her recipe to anyone! lol:D

Apples to oranges, apples to oranges.

Im sure lots of people are getting 100% hatch rate (at least from first fertilized clutches) in their Faly lines just as many do with the other locales. Secret trick or not, its kind of obsolete when the tried and true methods work just fine. As for competition. If someone is hatching something out, like parsons we will say because it is done rarely, with great success and then not giving up that info to at least other parsons keepers then there is some motive behind it. Even if its the first clutch one has ever hatched the info is very important. Whether it be the money or just bragging rights its BS if you ask me.

Edit: I can see the reasoning of wanting to not say one certain thing is what contributes the most to success. Keeping it a secret I cant but that is me. My whole ranting is not directed toward you TR so I hope you arent offened. Its just my messed up train of thought and how it happens after reading some stuff. If you are offended then I still think you are a good guy and have a great attitude on the forum. Just want to get that out there.

No worries man. I just wanted to let everyone know its not a competition I just want to make sure my methods work well and if people want they can use them too.

Hahahahahahaha!!!!!:D
