Feeding amount

So I typically alternate between 12 and 14 small crickets each day and along with one hornworm(going to order silkworms next time), but today I was curious if my 4-5 month old veiled was still hungry. I fed him 14 small crickets this morning and then they were all gone (of course lol), so I put in 4 medium roaches in his feeder cup and he ate them all right away!! Is this too much? Or should I just keep feeding him until he no longer eats that day? Thanks!

On my off days, I hand feed. I count every bug eaten and work hard at figuring out what the max is that each of my chameleons can eat for the day.

Now that I know this info. That is the amount of buggs that I will feed my adult chameleons for the next couple of weeks.

For my young, growing chameleons I take the max eaten for the day number and divide it by two and times that number by three. So, if my chameleon ate 10 bugs max for the day. For the next two weeks, I will therefore feed that chameleon (young and growing) 15 bugs a day. Hope this helps.

I fed my 4 month old panther, 22-25 crickets, (smalls and mediums) daily basis until he weaned himself around 9 months, some people wean their chameleons themselves because their chameleons are piglets. I have never had this issues with males. But with females XD they are chubs

Thanks guys :) so would it be ok to just put in about 4 roaches and 12 crickets a day? And remove whatever is left over? Or would I have to worry about him getting too fat haha

Don't worry about him getting to fat at the moment with that amount. That should be fine.

Then Andee gave you sound advice! That @Andee one is a good egg!
On another note, I have been feeding him small crickets but he finally took to dubia roaches. I got some medium ones (way bigger than I thought they would be) but he eats them anyways! Do you think that it will be ok he's eating them(the small ones are just tiny and don't move and he doesn't eat them)? And do you think I could start giving him large crickets(which are roughly the size of these roaches)?

Bugs you feed your chameleon should not be longer than the distance between his eyes! Bigger than that could lead to your chameleon choking to death!
Ok, thanks! I was also curious if you had an estimate on about how large of space I would need to keep about 20-30 dubia roaches at a time to guttload them?

Why don't you just breed your own dubias?
I'm at home living with my parents while I'm in college this semester and they don't even let me have them in the house so I have to sneak them in lol. But next semester I'm transferring colleges and renting an apartment and I plan to do so then!
