Female panther eye stuff

She has been cleaning her eye alot and the right one looks slightly more sunk in than the left. When its dry she just closes them for periods of time too, not cleanng them, just closing them. :(

get some plain saline solution from a drug store, and put a drop or two in her eye. shoudl help clear out whatever is in there.

So I got a vet appt for tuesday just in case. her eye got better after the saline last night and this morning. but I just collected all of the left over crickets from her cage and she hasn't been eating a lot at allllll. Im worried. She is the only of my chams that wont eat out of my hand. :(

ok.. noone wants to help? thats dissapointing. There is a few different post on here with people having the same problem, eyes closing at day and some even with lack of appetite. The vet is tomorow so hopefully i learn more there then I did on this posting.. lol ;)

I'm sorry.

If she's ready to lay, then she would probably go off her food. However, if she's early in the egg production mode, she should still be eating.

It's not uncommon for them to go on "hunger strikes" and they can go seemingly insane times without eating. But obviously a female that's producing eggs needs food.

Have you tried other feeders? If you can, that might help jump start the eating.

Do you cup feed or free range the food?

I was cup feeding her but she wasnt eating much then either.. but i recently took the cup out because she wasnt moving around alot so i figured if she hunted she could get more excersise. but im thinking, if she is producing eggs, that i should put the cup back in huh?

Sometimes closing of one eye is a vitamin A deficiency. I would get vitamin A capsules with Retinyl Palmitate ( I use CVS brand ) poke a hole in it and smear one drop a day on a feeder ( maybe try a hornworm since she's not eating much ) for 5 days and see if that helps :) don't do more than a small smear from a drop and no more than 5 days. You can then 2 weeks later do it one drop for one day twice a month for maintenance. It could of be something else like something stuck in her eye or a nutritional imbalance or infection. But I would try the Vit A

It would be helpful if you filled this out

Edit- if she is closing her eyes because she needs to lay than she needs a shot of oxytocin and calcium from the vet. And I would cover her cage in the meantime with a laying bin in it with a hole already dug for her just in case

I will fill out the form wen I'm not using my phone but I took her to the vet today and he also thought it could be vit a. So I will get what you said from cvs and use that but she isn't eating much and I think its becauise she can't see well so I will put the stuff into her mouth with water thru a syringe and then hopefully will eat more so I can put it on feeders. And about the laying.. thought she might be holding eggs because I showed her to my male the first time and she was receptive but I didn't let them mate and ever since then she has been blacker and not receptive at all. But I can see and feel no eggs in her and she isn't the slightest interested in the sand. She just sits around, not moving a lot of times and drinkking a BUNCH but her urates are still yellow?? Idk about that

Supplements - regular; Cal w/o D3 every feeding and multivit and D3 twice a month.

Have you tried another feeder? She might be one of those worm lovers (I never get them, mine always sneer at worms). If so, silkworms are excellent nutritionally as well as being a good source of hydration. Hornworms as similarly good. Wax worms and butter worms are less nutritionally good, but provide good hydration. If her urates are orange you need to get more water into her and soft body worms (not meal worms or superworms) are a good way to accomplish that.

I have silkies and hornworms and she won't eat either. She does drink.. she drinks tonnnns.. that's why its weird that her urates are orange

she pooped a few days ago and it was like regular brown poop in a clear coating and urate was fine. the day after she pooped with yellow urate and there was minimal brown mater. she didnt poop yesterday.
