Female veiled climbing out of lay bin

i just set my female up in a lay bin today as she has not been eating the last few days and has been very tempramental. This is my first time doing so and im not sure how it all goes. I just put her in there about an hour ago and all she has tried to do so far is climb out. I gave her heat source, dirt is deep enough and moist, and she has full privacy. Any thoughts? Should i just wait a day or 2 or should i get her out of there and try something else.

No its not its just to the side of it

So how do you know she needs to be in the bin?

It's hard on them to keep moving them back and forth...which is why I always recommend having an opaque container at least 12" deep x 12" x 8" filled with moist washed playsand IN the cage. They seem to always use the sand but some soils they don't seem to like.

She hasnt been eating lately she is shy to me and she has been very active around her cage. That was why i thought she needed to lay

Does she ever get bright turquoise spots or bright mustard yellow splotches?
She looks plump ...but her colors don't quite look gravid. I think you need the 12" deep x12" x 8" bin of washed sand IN her cage so you won't have to keep moving her to the one outside the cage.

She hasnt been displaying blue or yellow. She had blue when i was holding her after her stress colors went away but no she hasnt had the true gravid colors. The thing im worried about having the lay bin in her cage is that she likes to eat dirt and sand

I put her back in her cage a bit ago and put her to bed for the night. Ill try to get the bucket in her cage tomorrow and leave it there for a few days to see if she does anything with it

Eating the substrate in the container can lead to impaction depending on what the substrate is and not having a place accessible to her to lay the eggs in can lead to egg binding...so it's a catch 22 situation.

Yeah exactly. Thats my worry. Ill try tomorrow and see if she test holes or if i can see that she was tongueing the dirt. Ill post again tomorrow evening and let you know what happens
