I am getting ready to build the enclosure, and soon after I will be getting a veiled chameleon.
I am posting to make sure I have everything I need and that I am doing everything right so far.
The enclosure I plan to built will be 36 X 42 X 18 (front X height X depth) would that be large enough for a male veiled chameleon? I am building it out of 8' 2x2 wood beams. Any recommendations for the door, I figured a few hinges and a latch, but would that be cricket proof? The enclosure is going on top of a rarley used dresser in our guest bedroom, the dresser itself if 48" high, so he will be up high in the room, without hitting the ceiling.
I bought a reptisun 5.0 bulb and fixture already. I was told I can juse use a basic lightbulb for the heat lamb right? I have a ceramic clamp style fixture.
I am unsure of what plant to use for the enclosure, I want to hang a small pothos inside possibly, or just let the vines hang in.
I have decided to buy one that is at least 4 months old to ensure he is healthy, don't want to go too young.
Any tips or advice?
Thanks!
