There are 4 of us up here, I can't speak for the rest of em but I wouldn't have a problem with Orlando. 2-3 hrs one way isn't a big a deal. Scratch that...there's 5 of us from Gainesville to South GA.

I think the house idea will be lovely. I am driving up 2-3 hours to get to your house. I wish that we all lived close so we can meet up each others house every time instead of driving a couple hours. I will be more then happy to come and meet some of you guys and we can start the Florida Chameleon Community I cant wait

If it's monthly it can not be at my house every time. I think we should rotate to different areas of the state either monthly bi-monthly or even quarterly. At the "get together" at my house it can be decided if, when and where everyone would like to meet again or it can just be a one time get together.

It was more of a 'i don't wanna side track things so try out the search button' not a 'what the hell were you thinking, trying to derail this thread'

It is good forum dedicate to not go off on tangents unrelated to the OP.... but sometimes it helps when giving an example.

I wasnt imposing on that just to get things strait. I agree with the idea of rotating locations.

In today's world it rare to find anyone to offer their home up for a meeting of strangers. If it proves to be an issue there are always restaurants that have areas they can set aside for groups.

Chelsea and I are down for a meeting. We live up in NE Florida in St Augustine. We run a state-wide car club and have a large annual meeting in Orlando every year. Orlando is great bc there is plenty to do, plenty to eat, and lots of places to stay on the cheap.

i've lived and traveled all over Florida and have just returned this year after 10 years up in NY. i've got a great house in Melbourne on the east central coast for social gatherings; pool, pond, parking, panthers and pcarpets. my wife and i can cook up a storm. she'll bust out some native Filipino dishes, and i tend to go Louisiana style. crawfish boil or fried turkey, anyone? potluck lunch and dinner?

anyhoo, the thread you pointed me to is about three years old. i'm happy to volunteer our house for a monthly shindig, or if it's on a rotating schedule. also, due to some personal health issues i can't drive too far anyway, so it's certainly a lot easier if y'all come here!!

Olimpia, you've been here a few times. think we can handle a party?

i'll post this on the other thread also to see if it rejuvenates. i would hazard a guess that if everone kept going to the same location, every other month might be fine particularly for those that are driving further. if it's a revolving location, than monthly could work better as folks are able to get to a location closer to them and others can decide to drive or not.
