fogger guidance?

Seeking suggestions on fogger and moisture management? Current regimen is running fogger all night which keeps humidity around 80 and I sop up all the water that’s collected on the bottom of the screened terrarium… does anyone have any suggestions on a better way to manage this? I was thinking of putting a towel on the bottom to absorb the water as it accumulates… But don’t wanna put anything in there that the chameleon might mess with and end up hurting himself since I don’t think fabric is typically naturally occurring in their environment. Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I typically run my fogger from 12-6, and I have my misting system spray for 1-2 mins before the fog rolls in so it stays in the air better with the wet surface. As far as your water problem, pretty much the only solution if you don’t wanna keep cleaning up the water is going to be a drainage system. I drilled 3 1/2 inch holes towards the middle and it drains down into a 5 gallon bucket

You will need a way for water to drain for sure. There is not really any way around it. What kind of cage do you have, and how is it set up? You’ll want to somehow either do what yungzerk said of cutting holes and letting gravity drop into a bucket, or cutting a whole and installing a sink drain, and piping it over to a bucket or something like that.

Smart plan with the drainage holes. I like it! Thank you so much! .

I am also trying a lower fogger setting but with the mist aimed closer to my chameleon

I am actually upgrading to a 4x2x2 screen terrarium tomorrow.. current set up is about half that for my little one… I have lots of branches and live pothos throughout

I only ran my fogger from 12am to 5 am. That’s all they really need. If you’re having trouble keeping humidity up then when you get the bigger cage try cutting the bottom of a clear plastic shower curtain off and wrapping it around 3 sides of your enclosure but not the front or top. You can attatch it to the metal frame around the top with Velcro that’s sticky on one side. Then stick the opposite side of the Velcro on the top edge of the shower curtain and the Velcro should stick together and hold it on. You may have to add more Velcro down the side of the cage frames to keep it snug around it. Forgot to say, measure the shower curtain height at 4 feet and cut off the rest.

Thanks for the info and suggestions! I appreciate it! ❤️
