Food is out?

Three days ago I was running low on crickets. Wensday at 4:00pm I ordered 500 crickets from ghanns... Its saturday and I dont have any crickets yet. Yesterday I fed off the crickets because I thought they would be there that day(only four crickets left then..gave 2 to charlie and 2 to fred) Now today is coming and going and Idk if I will get them...I think ghanns service is fedex and I feel like im starving Charlie and Fred. (Charlie is a cham and Fred is a beardie)

So I thought my only option til monday if they dont come to day is to go find a near bait shop and buy crickets. Let them gutload for a few hours then feed as I normally do.

Any other sources I could try? If I really have to I could drive an hour to the pet store I normally go to but I don't really have that time because I'm suppose to be going to my grandmas right now to plant a garden and do some work.

What should I do? :confused:
I'm not exactly worried for Fred because he has a source of greens he eats up lately since crickets have been given sparingly. Charlie kind of picks at the greens but im afriad neither are getting enough.
 
I know Charlie is getting older, and he'll probably be okay without food for a few days as long as he's healthy otherwise. I don't know about Fred... Maybe a beardie person can help.

Does ghanns have a 'if you order after 12 on Wednesday we ship it out the following monday' policy?

Edit: just checked. If your ordered after noon on Wednesday and you used 2nd day shipping, then they send it out on the next Monday. So you should get them around Wednesday. However, if you ordered overnight shipping, then I would give them a call because it should have arrived on Friday.
 
According to the shipping day it would ship out thursday since I ordered late after noon. Idk..why don't you look at this link, http://www.ghann.com/index.cfm and find out for me Pssh, please.

(I ordered 2 day shipping btw so I would think it would come today unless Fedex doesn't come until monday...I believe their carrier is fedex)
 
Check my edit. The table I looked at said that if you order 2nd day shipping after noon on Wednesday then they send it out the next Monday. You should get them by Wednesday of next week.
 
At 4pm on weds when you ordered, did you really think your order would make the door from them in time for shipment?

What does your email say? Was it shipped?

I didnt think it would be ship that day..I figured the next day and I would get it today. My lizards have never been in this situation except once but that was without food for one day.

My e-mail I got gives information on everything I filled out. I tried tracking it but it wont work. I believe it doesn't say anything about shipped but they recieved the order wensday at 4pm

Ok that is just stupid. I thought I was getting a good deal..which I did but if the shipping is that long..then I mise as well go drive an hour to get crickets.
I ordered the 2 day shipping..if I would have known this I would have ordered the "whenever" so my order would be cheaper...

I normally get 300 crickets for $20....this site I ordered 500 for $23(thats $10 with tax)
 
The beardie will be just fine on only greens for at least a week. depending on size you can even see if any super worms are available at your local pet store. Make sure he is at least 16ish inches before feeding the super worms. Also make sure you only give him one or two the first time and be sure he digests them well. Some dragons are great with them and others are not.

There is no local pet store. There is a near by gas station with different kinds of nightcrawlers...should I do that or go find a bait shop?
 
It is a good deal, you just have to order before Wednesday. :)

I'd make the hour drive just one more time and learn from this. Buy on Sundays or Mondays so it gets to you by wednesday.

Ya I think I will just do that...grr so next time when I think its time I will order on monday and wait for it.

Ehh..I wouldn't. You'll be fine on just greens with the beardie. Don't even sweat it

No offense but first you wait till its a dire emergency to place an order instead of doing it in advance.
Then instead of reading what days ghann's and times that ghann's does their shipping you start making assumptions.
Then when you find out the policy of their shipping, they (ghann's) is somehow stupid and you got a bad deal???

Do you realize that basically everyone who ships out live animals or food will only ship on Mon, Tues, and Weds?
Do you realize that there is a good reason for not shipping on thursday?
I'm not even going to talk about your thoughts on a delivery on Saturday...

Like most americans today...blame the other guy for your mistake.

Next time do your homework before you even buy a pet.

Uh this is basically first time I ordered online and since it was Wensday..I figured. Now you really shouldn't even had said anything..I said I went and got crickets...
Now who says americans are only ones who blame others? Your really rude...I just wasn't understanding then I relized what I did..so..

I did bunches of homework and you act like I haven't til I got a cham. I have had other lizards and your sitting there telling me to do my work? You wouldn't believe all the work I do before I buy a pet..its actually over searching because I find out when I get what I was aiming for...that I over searched and didnt exactly need that.

Ya a mistake on my part with the crickets but do you have to point it out like I'm lazy and wait til I need it?? Really this is why I hate posting..people and their straight up rude comments.

See this whole ordering thing started tuesday. I was looking at my crickets and I had a good..30-50 left and I was like..Hey! Lets ask some chameleon owners about crickets from a bait shop so I can save some money. Well during that period..someone came up with Ghanns and I was like awesome that is a great cheap deal. Well it was late so I went to bed and ordered the next day after school. Being me I figured it would come friday...I never really order crickets online. Well I fed off the rest friday because I thought after I got out of school they would be at home and ready to start feeding again. And I guess me being an "AMERICAN" was stupid and blamed someone else? Well they weren't there so I wait til today. Nothing.. so then I decided to ask the same thing and see what came up. This comes up and I say ok I will just go to the pet store and wait for the order Monday-Wensday. Then I get you...really??
 
C'mon guys. He admitted already that he did not realize the time made a difference. Everyone is entitled to mistakes. He's making the trip to the pet store, and has the shipment ordered.
