For all the big chameleon breeders...

What do your neighbors think? Do they ask you often if they could take a look? Or do most if not all of you have your own warehouse/greenhouse? lol I would love having a neighbor with a sh!tload of chameleons!!!

My neighbors thought I was growing pot when I had a group in the basement.
All they could see was alot of plants and lights from the basement windows.
I was aquitted eventually.

I don't even think my neighbors dont even know I have greenhouses full of chameleons. They could care less.

I think about half of this town thought that was what I was up to. You know "those people from California" , I never get away from that "sticker" in this place.

Several years ago, my neighbor came over and said there was a strange lizard in their backyard and they didn't know what is was. Sure enough, it was one of my escapees. So now they know I have chams in my backyard.

Everytime someone sees my cages they think I have pot in there... Even the AT&T guy that put my cable in. It confuses me because I really don't think people grow in cages lol. I had to ask the AT&T guy how stupid he thought I was. If someone was coming over I definitely wouldn't have it out in the living room

While I had my two chameleons in my dorm room, I got the same "is that pot?" question from my RA and public safety :p. Luckily they were both small montane chameleons and couldn't be found easily. I tricked them both into thinking it was a live plant experiment for my science class. Good thing chameleons are excellent at hiding :D.

Same here, lots of windows with silhouettes of singular plants each with its own light in nice rows. We always get the stink eye from nosy neighbors.

Same here. My new neighbor and I started talking chams while I had a few sunning outside one day. He told me he and his wife saw lights and plants through the window and she thought we were growing tomatoes. I guess he told her it probably wasn't tomatoes and that they had Cheech and Chong living next door. I had a good laugh out of that and immediately brought him inside too show him the goods.

I also had DirecTV here when we first moved in to install the satellite boxes. The guy glanced over at the cham room, noticed all the lights and plants and turned away immediately all beet red in the face. He for sure thought we were growing something. I asked him if he liked reptiles and decided to show him the collection. Last thing I need is some guy calling the cops telling them we have a growing operation in our house.

Getting accused of growing pot sounds fun, in a sarcastic way.

Edit: I don't have a chameleon (yet), though when I cared for a bearded dragon, the lizard's presence was unmistakable.

Then again, my bearded dragon's home resembled a desert rather than a crop. :p

Especially over the 'hump'; im sure he did not want to ask any questions :p.

When are you guys going to make the move into the city so we can start a Vegas chameleon club?

Haha...exactly!! Hopefully by the end of Nov. so I can qualify for the new homeowners tax credit. Fingers crossed I find something in time.
