Found veiled in garden

Ezra is doing awesome! We bought some screen to build him an enclosure. I took him to the local pet store and asked if anyone has reported their lizard missing. She said no. She's somewhat of a lizard expert and said he is indeed fully grown, and quite thin.we got some crickets and vitamin powder. I purchased a pothos and a hibiscus. I purchased a drip system, basking light, and UV light. How'm I doing Lol?

Just to be clear, did you just get Vitamin powder? Or did you get a Calcium power as well? Vitamin powder and Calcium powder are two different things. You need both.

I did not get vitamin powder. They didnmt have any @ the pet store I went to. Can I order it? Whatbrands do you recommend, and from where?

I hope this helps you with your soon to be addiction :)

Here's what I use for a multivitamin, use it twice a month and you can order for like 10$ at lll reptile. Here's the link:

Also, be sure to LIGHTLY dust you feeder insects and try to use at least 3 different ones to avoid boredom and hunger strikes, it is pretty easy to over-supplement chameleons. With veiled chameleons, watch for white residue being excreted from the nasal canals and swelling of the neck which can be a fairly common symptom of over-supplementation. You'll also want to gutload you feeders with a good gutload, I use cricket crack & water crystals from tiki tiki reptiles and also rotate between different fruits and veggies. If possible, it is extremely beneficial to to get him some safe supervised outside time, UV lighting is good but natural sunlight is the best. Remember that windows do not transfer UV rays through them. You'll want your cage humidity around 40-50% most of the time with spikes of higher humidity usually achieved by misting and dripping, I highly recommend investing and using a misting system like a MistKing along with a dripper. If you have a problem with humidity, you can buy a white plastic table cloth from walmart for a couple dallars. You will need some sort of drainage system, you can check out my post about Mojohnsons' room and see what I did for like 20$. It would also be wise to find a reptile vet and have him do a parasite test and a physical examination, since he was in the wild.

Welcome to the forum & good luck and congrats on your lucky find, If you have any questions or concerns about your cham., please feel free to send me a pm anytime. This forum is an excellent source for information and help from non-judgmental keepers :). We are all here to provide support for each other.

I hope you keep him and get all the info. Just a fair warning nobody gave me when I started: chameleons are more addicting than any drug, even chocolate.

Ohhhhhh mylanta! Imm already addicted to fur babies! I'm sure an addiction to the cold-blooded won'thurt, RIGHT? hahahah :p

Just to let you know, the nostril crusts have been proven not to be from over supplementation but instead a natural way to expel salts.

I did not know that, thanks for the info! I'm not very familiar with Veileds, mainly F. Pardalis, Jacksonii, and Melleri. I love learning new Cham. Facts :D
