She's begun the dig down :) Thanks to this forum I was able to see the signs. Now is there any special aftercare after she lays eggs? I had read something somewhere about liquid calcium, but they were talking about fertile eggs, her eggs aren't.

Keep her well hydrated and if you don't have any liquid calcium just use extra plain calcium dust on her feeder the next few days.
 
Ok, so how will I know if she's done? She has also made two holes I just noticed. She is back to her basking spot, but I don't want to check for eggs in case she's not done. If she's out from the holes does that mean she's done? She started about 11:30 12:00 this morning and finished about 15 minutes ago (approx 8-8.5 hours)?
 
Still dig dig digging away. I moistened the potting soil more when I cleaned out her cage today. She has definitely gotten bigger now. I think it should be anyday.
 
Don't let her see you watching her when she's digging or she will likely abandon the hole. If it happens often enough she can become eggbound.

She may dig several test holes but should settle on one and dig it until she is happy with it. She will then turn around (bum down) and lay the eggs, fill in the hole, tamp it down and return to the branches. When she returns to the branches, you can dig the eggs up. I recommend digging them up even if they are infertile so you can see how many she laid.

Was she mated?

Jojackson, I have a photo of Lily laying in her album on my profile page. Sadly, I didn't think to video it, but I did get to watch for a while through a gap that was just big enough to get a photo! It was cool to see her body contract and actually see the eggs pop out and pile up as she laid them! Lily was one amazing chameleon!:D
 
Not watching her, she is in our bedroom by herself during the day and I clean her cage at night when she's sleeping. Besides the morning feeding and misting we have no contact with her now :( I feel neglectful lol.
As for being mated, I don't think so. We just got her about 3 weeks ago, and the guy only had her sister. I'm pretty sure they'll be infertile. No biggie or disappointment here though, just getting into the cham caring, so baby steps, 1 cham at a time :)
