I swear, Rebel keeps me on my toes. He worries me to death and makes me laugh. He hates when I attempt to pick him up. He hisses, and lunges at my hand to try to bite me. One time he even fell off of his mini free range trying to get away from me. I decided to try wearing a glove again
and guess what. He has no problem with me picking him up with my gloves on. They are bright blue and white gardening gloves. I have no idea what he hates about my bare hand so much. lol He is a silly boy...

He thinks your skin-fingers are snakes :p and the glove is a female chameleon :p

Jokes aside though, my chameleon absolutely hates my gloves. They're light grey and very pale yellow. It might just be that they look like the pattern of a natural predator or something.

Maybe he just hates your hands! :p

gloves

try the blue rubber palmed Atlas brand gloves. the softness but secure grip seems to work really well with mine, when they are having a bad day. [I sound like a femine product commercial]

Rebel

I just noticed you have a Veil by the name Rebel. It was mispelled though (different post), which confused me. @ the sentence beginning you wrote 'mt' instead of my. I thought you were trying to say mt veil, so i was like what? & kinda just moved on without thinking about it. I named mine for her attitude. Her sister from the same clutch is named Sweet Pea. Needless to say, she is no longer sweet. She is a complete b#t*h.

I'm now tempted to try gloves... my female panther is just a big bag of spite and has drawn blood several times...

Yes, I've started using gloves with one of mine. The first time he actually bit and broke the skin was the last time I tried to pick him up with bare hands! He hates the gloves, but I hate getting bitten!

Do you hand feed?

How do you go about picking him up?

Sometimes, it takes several minutes for me to get one of my guyz on my hand
with all 4 feet and tail not anchored to anything, meaning they have decided
to trust me.
Other times, they will leave their tail, or one foot firmly anchored to a branch
with the other 3 feet tentitivly on my hand, and ready to pull away any second!!

I can see a lot of ppl simply not having the patience for all that, which could
upset the cham, since they like everything on their terms, not yours

However, when they want to come out and play on the free range, they practicly fly up my arm as soon as I have the cage door open wide enough

Yes, I hand feed. My guy that I now use the gloves with isa little over a year old and I've had him since he was a baby. I have hand fed him on a regular basis since the beginning. He used to be great and come out on me willingly. Over time, he got more and more "standoffish" until the way he is now where even when I open up the door to offer him a treat by hand he initially puffs up and gapes until he realizes I have a treat for him at which point he'll take the treat, but he's still not got his calm colors on.

I can still usually coax him out of his enclosure with a worm, but it's getting harder. When he's on his free range he's fine. It's the cage "territorial" thing. If I have to reach into his cage for some reason, and I'm going to have to go anywhere near where he is, I wear gloves. Even when I'm not reaching for him, he will attempt to bite.
