Gender of veiled chameleon?

Hello! I have had my veiled for about a month and a half now named Frankie and when i bought him/her from petco the guy told me he/she was a male (based on his/her toes?) but i began to question the gender because i haven’t seen a way you can tell gender based on their toes and because i’m not sure about the spurs on Frankie’s back feet. She/he also seems to maybe be a bit small for his/her age but i’m honestly not even sure how she/he is. Petco advertised Frankie as a baby when i bought him/her about a month and a half ago.

If anyone could help with Frankie’s gender and maybe even his/her age I would greatly appreciate it. I’ve included some pictures to help.

Also, if Frankie is a female would a 16x16x30in cage be large enough for her for the rest of her life? I was going to upgrade to a 24x24x48in soon, but i hear females don’t need as large of a cage as males. And if she needs a place to lay her eggs what could I use for that and around what age should i put that in there? Don’t want her to get sick because she can’t lay her eggs! (Sorry for all the questions. This is my first cham.)

Frankie definitely looks like a Francine to me.

What they mean about the feet is that a male, veiled chameleon has little spurs on the backs of their back feet.

If he has spurs on the back feet in the middle he is most certainly a male they are born with these also you should be careful with the cage size everything I’ve read says to increase size slowly

Nice looking female you have there. When I had a female I had a 24X24X48" habitat....you will beed a bin for her to lay eggs in soon. My guess is she is 5 months old....and they can lay eggs at that age.

Thanks for your help. I will definitely get a 24x24x48 cage. I just looked up some information on the laying binc but one remaining question I have is should I keep the laying bin in her cage at all time, or just when she is showing signs of having eggs?

I kept mine in all the time...you can take it in and out once you know the signs of when they are with eggs.
