Glacier Water fill ups

At my local grocery store I see Glacier fill up stations. It has a label stating r.o. and ozone and other filtration methods being used. Is that safe for my Cham? It looks cheaper, but I dont want to cheap out and harm him.

I had a thread about that same thing a couple weeks ago.... I was asking about the difference between distilled and RO water (not much a difference, except how it is purified) and I was also wondering about the refill stations....

In that thread, I even have a pic of the process the refill station at my local Kroger uses: https://www.chameleonforums.com/attachments/20160129_163051-jpg.150730/

That's about as pure as it gets! It's a GLACIER refill station, just like you are asking about. 3 different filters, and a reverse osmosis process, AND, at the very end it gets blasted with UV light to purify the water and destroy possibly anything that may have been left behind (which is pretty unlikely, given the entire process)

So to answer your question, yes, use it! I use it. I have a 5 gallon refill jug, and a smaller 3 gallon refill jug which has a water spout on it for easy dispensing of water. I take em both in to fill them up when I'm about out, and then get my water from the 3-gallon's spout, refilling it with the water from the 5-gallon as needed. Nice purified clean water, for 39 cents a gallon. Beats buying it by the gallon already packaged on the shelf for 99 cents a gallon. The distilled water off the shelf is 89 cents a gallon.

At 39 cents a gallon and way cheaper than the pre-filled gallons, it's a total win. You just gotta spend a tad on the refillable containers up front, but in the long run, you are saving lots by refilling yourself. It's not the cheap way out - those machines make quality water, and it's cheaper, because you fill it yourself. You're also paying for the refillable containers upfront, which goes towards the maintenance of the machine and the replacing of filters as needed. Very cost effective and nice. Works great.

Awesome! Thanks buddy!

Yea, in my original thread I was posting about the price of it being 35 cents a gallon. That was an error, and it actually costs 39 cents a gallon. I had a brain fart that day and for some reason was thinking the machine said 35 cents a gallon on it... But I started using it that week, and now know that it is actually 39 cents a gallon. Not much a difference, and still considerably cheaper than the 89-99 cents a gallon for water off the shelves. Deff a little easier on the pocket. No more white dust being left anywhere in my enclosure from using filtered tap water either. R.O. is THA WAY TO GO!!
