Good places to buy Veiled

I have decided to change from a panther to a veiled. I've got my cage just about done. Now I need to find a breeder. It appears that most of the sponsors sell Panthers, but don't list Veiled.

I thought I read that it was best to start with a 3 month old, but notice that the few Veiled I've found available our 2 months old. Is this the typical age for Veileds?

I would prefer to pick the sire, not just get a misc. chameleon.

Can anybody provide some good reputable places to purchase a baby male veiled?

It is important to get one from a small breeder that interacts with their animals if you want a nice friendly veiled. Karen at the Chameleon Farm has some that should be ready for new homes soon. I got my boy Sage from her and he's not only very friendly he's handsome too.

Most of our site sponsors are great (I say most because, as much as I would love to, I haven't yet bought chams from every single one)! As said before, FLchams is great and he always produces healthy animals. Janns recommendation is great as well.

Stay away from the big box stores; both online and local. They have a reputation for trying to make a profit, and not necessarily making sure they send out healthy animals.

A word of advice: I tend to trust places more that offer a longer health guarantee. It shows that they have a little more trust in the health of their animals than others.

Also, selling veileds at less than two months old is a little risky; however, listing veileds at 2 months is sort of the standard. They are quite hardy and at 2 months old will be fine.

Most people try to hang on to panther babies for longer in order to make sure they are able to sex them, as well as if they want to hold them back for breeding or not!

I don't have a ton of experience but did my due diligence prior to my purchase and Mike at flchams is great to work with. I have had my veiled for about 2 months now and am so glad I decided to purchase from him vs some of the other sponsors out there. One thing I would suggest however is not to rush the purchase. You never know when who is going to have what available for sale at a given time so be patient. Talk with Mike and explain what your looking for and he will point you in the right direction.

FLChams is one of places I was looking at. They seem to have reasonable prices and according to you guys are a good place to order from. So far, their the place I'm leaning towards. Waiting for them to email me back.

i think lllreptiles is a good sight to. im purchasing my medium male veiled chameleon from them to and seem to be pretty healthy. as of bloodlines and stuff like that? they really dont have that. lol just my answer btw: the total with shipping and everything for me is $68 dollers
