I think it’s ok to aim the fog at him. My guy often sleeps in the flow of fog coming down into his enclosure.

Nvm I just saw him gaping. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHSo as of now his RI seems to be gone. His main issue is he doesn't get up in the morning. He just stays there cold and half sleeping. If I pick him up and put him in his basking spot or take him outside he gets going and is pretty active the rest of the day.
Poor guy, I hope he can get through thisNot sure if anyone cares but here's an update. He's still alive and gaping. I finished the full round of Amikacin and it did not fully cure him. After it started coming back it seemed to be getting worse until I started reptaid. I have a third antibiotic from the vet that I got after he started gaping. Never started it because I wanted to give the reptaid a go. It seems to keep him stable and good on some days and worse on others. Always gapes at some point in the day, usually in the evenings now. Probably will try and see a new vet at some point.
Yeah idk. Vet I've been seeing seems ok but they don't seem like chameleon specialists. Idk what a new vet would do differently but I'm also not a vet.Poor guy, I hope he can get through this
If you think you need a second opinion I would say, go for it if you can
Sending love and hugs
Yeah, nothing like what I'm experiencing though. Everything I read makes it sound like he should be dead by now but somehow he just keeps on living to gape another day.Chameleon academy may have some Infromation on reparatory infections. I will also keep an eye out for similar threads.
Have you read this…”Nose is in the air to help straighten throat to aid in breathing. This is the time to start treatment.”…is this what your chameleon is doing or is the gaping not being done with the head in the air?

Seen this?….
A kidney issue could cause breathing difficulties? It’s been bothering me that there’s no real nose high in the air gaping. I’m wondering if it’s not a respiratory infection but maybe something else….like a kidney issue. I’m not a vet though so I can only guess based on what I think.
I think the thought is maybe it's not a breathing issue, unless his whole body is like... visibly struggling to breathe. Perhaps the constant mouth opening/gaping is indicative of something else. Pain? Discomfort? Yawning?A kidney issue could cause breathing difficulties?
