I went to my usual spot yesterday. Awesome, they had mowed it recently. So I caught twice as many as I normally do. My guys/gals were eatting good today. lol Caught lots of big 2" green hoppers. My crew absolutely goes nuts for em. Got a good load of katydids too. Im going back this weekend before the brush gets too high again.

So you have no qualms about feeding wild insects then? There seems to be alot of controversy on here about that.

lol grasshopper is like a dessert for my bf vieled cham... Pedro like it so much he eats it in my bf finger,,, i never seen Pedro move so fast to get to the grasshopper its amazing lol,,,but we do wash the grasshopper before feeding it to Pedro,,, :D

I agree

When Eye-gor see's me leave with the net. HE KNOWS. Yummy Green gummys coming his way. When I come back in, he is at the door waiting. All fed by hand because I can't get them in fast enough! Today, a three incher was no problem as well as a large mantis! I should have took pictures of that one! Gulp too fast!

Ship me some I'll pay.. My Chams first meal was a green grasshopper that showed up out of nowhere in my condo.. I wish there was a place I could go to get more,,lol..

Which I really dont understand. Know the bugs you are collecting and know they come from a pesticide free area. The benifits of feeding WC bugs outweighs the risks by far.;)

TPM, take me!!!!!!!!!! Its autumn here and the bugs are going into hiding:mad:

Edit. Besides the spiders I keep well fed in the house :p

Very well said Jared!!!! I feed my babies wolf spiderlings, and I feed adults nice sized WC grasshoppers and have never had a parasite issue or other problem for that matter. I think WC feeders are very beneficial if you know they come from pesticide free areas.

Lol its good to know were not the only one running around the countryside looking for grasshopper ... ahhh The things you do for your cham,,,,its worth it tho :D

I was on vacation in northern New Mexico this weekend. TONS of big grasshoppers there. All I could think of was "I bet my chameleon would LOVE those!" My Dh just sighed.
