gravid female concers !

hello all .
i have a friend that bred her female veiled chameleon(age aprox 1year and 4-5 months old and she had 65 grams before she bred ) on 13 of march .
3-4 days ago she started to dig holes in the earth that was put in her cage.
she does this almost all the time, stays on the bottom of the cage on the soil and she digs holes.
so it passed 28 days since she bred her .
should we concern about this ? or this is normal behaviour ?
could she be egg bound ? or we just need to give her some time ?
and how much does this period untill she lays takes?
does it need to take more time untill she will lay ?
All parameters are ok ( temps, humidity, etc).
She is housed in an exo terra tank and she has a 7 inch earth substrate since she was bred .
Ah and this is the 1st time the female was bred and 1st time ever when she has eggs.
here are some pics with the bottom of the cage.

thank you .

It can take females several days to dig and lay their eggs.

She needs total privacy for this, any interrupption could cause her to stop and become egg bound.

She needs at least 12 inches of dirt to dig in, not 7, this could be why she hasnt finished yet.

At this point,i would wait till she goes to sleep, and add another bucket wtih much deeper dirt in it, or replace the one she has.

she probably isnt laying because seh cant get deep enough.

my girl dug down 9-10 inches when she needed to lay.

but it has to be done at night, the replacement, so she wotn see you.

could she add earth only in the back of the cage or the half back of the bottom cage?becose in the from is the doors and she wont be able to open them.
the earth is put directly in the cage with no recipe .

and another question .
what is the interval when she is supposed to lay eggs?
is she in this time period? i mean 28 days is to soon or is the right time, or it must pass more days ?

time wise shes fine.

not too soon, def not late.

you can put dirt wherever you want, just make sure some good sized spot is 12 inches deep, or deeper if you can.

ok, she will do that. i will post updates on what is happening .
thank you very much Cami :) .
