Green Anoles

So earlier today I was wandering my backyard and happened to cross a rather large green anole (seemed to small to be a cuban knight) I creeped up to it and caught it swiftly. After a few quick bites and a few minutes of observation, I let him go reluctantly.
I was wondering, how are these animals to care for? They seem fun and have a pretty cool disposition. :D

Anoles are fun! They are pretty easy to care for (especially if your comfortable with chams). People say they live in captivity for 1 to 3 years but we had one that lived for 5 years. They are voracious eaters and proficient hunters and all around cool little lizards :)

I actually have one in my 30 gallon tank with 3 neon dragons. I rescued him from becoming a cat snack. Neon's love to eat and so do Anoles. It is so comical to watch them jump on crickets and mealworm. One thing that I was not aware of was that Anoles can climb up glass - the Neons can't.

Green anoles are beautiful little lizards.

The first lizards I ever bred, many years ago as a kid.

That first pair I had as a kid became very tame- I could hand feed and take them out and handle and pet under the chin a little and they would sit on my shoulder while I watched TV.

Up close they are really beautiful and have some neat features- nice skin, lovely crocodile-shaped head and neat toe pads...

They seem like great little guys! I'm definitely going to look into one once I get my cham accommodated. Is it typical to use screen cage or aquarium?

Aquarium is fine. Screen cage is OK too.

Be warned I have fond memories but they don't come very tame- it took a lot of determination and time as a kid. They are pretty fast and stick to everything. I named mine zip and zing as a kid because that is how they were until they grew used to me...

I have a breeding group of 3 pairs of Green Anoles. They are great pets and sometimes they can be tamed down enough to tolerate some handling. They are great fun to watch :)

I have a male Cuban Knight Anole and a male prehensile tailed anole at the moment. I've had them both for many years. They both have attitude.
