Green When outside cage?

So murph is a veiled but in his cage he is a little dark so i take him out on my hands and he puffs up but hes brighter colors green/turquoise he puffs and hisses alittle if i move or scare him but his colors are brighter does this mean anything and one more quick question
i finally got him to eat but he doesnt have uvb so before he ate i had the window cracked open for like 2-3 hours yesterday he hasnt pooped but today i fed him more crickets and still more poop yes i know i need uvb im hopefully ordering it this weekend or maybe see if they have uvb at my petstore the other 4 days he did poop and he didnt even eat crickets! idk why he didnt poop today i did feed him at night and today after school i know without uvb they dont digest fast? is this true? and is it bad if this goes on till i get a uvb (hopefully on the weekend)

The sooner the better, but a very short while without uvb won't do any harm if you get him outside a bit.....how long have you had him now? It is normal to get a bit brighter when you take him out. It's better for his digestion if you feed in the morning, not at night (an occasional evening snack is no problem though )

my parents are getting paid and my mom said i could order a uvb online

on saturday i had him outside and sunday i had him outside all day
i had school on monday and tuesday so i took him out for maybe an hour or two and wednesday i left him inside and today i took him outside its going on two hours and hes still outside getting some sun and ill leave him there till about 7 or 8 right now its 6

1. Like many people he is uneducated on how to properly care for a chameleon
2. He acknowledges his lack of education on this subject and is asking for advice.
3. While telling him about the dangers of MBD and the need for 12 hours of uvb a day is the proper response, calling him a fool will only chase him away from the advice he so desperately needs.

OP, I think you are confusing a basking bulb with a UVB ( you should have both). A basking bulb is to produce heat to regulate, in this case raise your Chams body temp and this will help in digestion. The UVB is to help your Cham process/transform D3 from something else ( I believe betacaratine). Because of the lack of exposure to natural sunlight. So it needs to be replicated in the form of artificial lighting (UVB).

Either way , get both as soon as you can.

Where are you located? If you order from Lightyourreptiles he ships very fast! I got my Arcadia bulb in like 3 days (including the day I ordered it) he shipped it out immediately.

No Im not uneducated about chameleons I'm not a fool the place he was at had him in a glass tank not even a terrarium or screen but a glass aquarium he was only 59 dollars. Ive done research on chams for about a year I know they need uvb and supplements I was asking if he would be fine for this week since the store only had repti sun 10.0 uvb since i need 5.0. and my parents told me I could order it when they get paid which was yesterday I ordered from pangeareptile and the order failed so I emailed the guy and waiting for his reply. I wouldnt say i lack knowlage about them but lack a few supplies to let him live I take him outside everyday I know the uvb frmo the sun is better anyways but i have two dogs and my mom is worried they will knock his cage down and need to watch him alot more when hes outside.

yes i have a basking area i needed a uvb i probably was typing my thoughts out to fast after school i know they need uvb to absord d3 thats why right now i only dust with calcium while hes outside since he can make natural d3. but im making a cage for inside and getting uvb,repashy calcium plus for inside

You could see if the pet store has a mercury vapor bulb, they produce some UVB. Might hold you over until you get the 5.0 bulb. You could also use the 10.0 just hang it higher up from the enclosure and not directly on top of it.
