ya she is in my room but i have black out curtain around her cage and some of the top off for some ventalation
 
They can't really hear anyways. Just leave her alone and don't go in the room as much as possible.
 
Just checking in on your lady...to see how things are going or if there is any news yet?
No news here, other than today she has refused to eat (very unlike her) we put a cricket in the cage and she looked like she was going to eat it but then she turned her back on it. Still pacing, still covered over too :)
Ive attached some new photos of her...they mated on March 8th...sometimes she looks fat...sometimes it looks like we can see lumps too.

well she stays at the laying bin but keeps on scratching on the side glass and not at the floor:confused::confused::confused:i could really use some info right now???:eek:
 
Have you tried just putting her in a big bucket/tub and leaving her in there? Some females need the feeling of the ground being the lowest part of where they are. A laying bin in a cage doesn't give them that feeling since it's raised.
 
it can be very large roller coaster ride of emotions when you have a gravid female about to lay. The very best thing you can do is make sure her cage is covered like you did. and stay out of the room she is in. she cant hear you but if she sees you she will abandon her hole and have to start a new one. she may give up all together and not lay. I am not trying to scare you just as hard as it is you NEED to give her privacy. imo. I have lost a female to egg binding. is painful to watch so save your self and her. and let her do her thing. I wait until about 30 minutes after lights out to check for eggs. I start by checking her. she will be very small looking and be covered in dirt. The last clutch my female laid it took her 3 days to dig the hole to her liking. she even slept in the hole 1 night. Good luck...We are all pulling for your girl. I am sure she will lay soon and the anxiety will be over until the next time lol :D

AGREED. simply putting a bucket or tub in the cage have never worked for me. if its not the lowest point of the cage they dont lay in it.

ive used trashcans and large tubs with small cages on top.

watch the heat from the basking bulb. dont worry about the tube for now. make sure shes got some stuff to rest on and plant she can hide beneath to feel safe and secure while she makes her deposit.

If it doesn't heat up too much, yes a basking bulb and a branch is a good idea. A plant (fake or real) can also encourage laying. It has to do with the roots of a plant/tree having a more stable amount of moisture in the wild.
 
ok i left the room for a while now and she just keeps trying to get out of the container she doesnt even paw at the floor?:confused:
 
Again to agree with pssh and dekuscrub about level and plant. Try not to worry about her trying to get out, she will settle and dig eventually if she's ready (my girl was the same and tried to dig sideways through cardboard for a couple of hours before she got the right idea).
P.s I guess 42........
 
My girl mated on March 3rd also and laid 33 eggs yesterday (Saturday). She climbed in and out of the laying bin several times and scratched around for 2 days before she finally decided this was where she had to lay her eggs and then she did it. YAYYYYY. Her first clutch. She is 19 months old and wasn't interested in boys until now.
 
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO shes digging!!!!!!!!!!! i snuck in my room real quick to give you guys an update! her whole body is now in a tunnel i dug!!!yes me!!!!!!!i dug her a test tunnel and shes actually using it i cant see her anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:D:D:D:D:D
