Gular Edema or Flexed Hyoid Bone?

I would recommend you get more. I checked with my vet and he said Baytril should always be a crystal clean liquid.

Thank you jann, I will be calling tomorrow morning and will get some new stuff.

Good news though, his appetite is improving and he is becoming more tolerant to my presence. He crawls over to me from wherever hes hiding in his cage if I am holding a cricket :D. He even pooped in front of me, then after he pooped he walked over and plucked a leaf off of a branch.

I can't wait til he sheds, I think his eye will clear up after he sheds as he is still rubbing it on branches from time to time.

Waldo started his first shed in my care this morning, time to go charge my camera :D.

Should I hold off on misting until he's done, should I mist extra, or should I just do the normal routine?

Thanks,
Jake

Can't wait to see new pictures of him. Aren't you just falling head over hills in love with this little guy. It's strange how they can do that to you. :)

Yes, I am haha. Was just trying to get pictures of him, but couldn't get any good as he was hiding in the back. I'll try again later though!

Wow, he's already done shedding, that was fast! I grabbed a couple good pics, I will post them later when I have more time.

Glad to hear you are working your magic on him:) Its a shame to have done your research first only to end up with a sick animal. Sounds like you are doing a great job. this will make you a much better keeper in the long run. Cant wait to see pics, Jake!

Yeah, as I suspected, his eye cleared up alot after this shed. There still appears to be some abrasions from rubbing his eye, though. I will flush out his eye again as soon as I can get my hands on some more saline, which will be soon. Just to make sure there is nothing still stuck in there.

Thanks,
Jake

There seems to still be some leftover shed skin, a small amount that looks much like a bracelet and wraps around his ankle. I have read of things saying that stuck shed skin can cut of circulation and lead to the need of amputation.

Should I give this more time, or attempt to remove it myself.

If need be, I can try to get a picture.

Thanks,
Jake

It looks like the swelling has gone down signifcantly since the first or even third pic. Great job! I don't think you should help with the shed, with mistings and daily activity it should work itself off.

Alright, I'll add some extra time on his mistings then.

Thanks,
Jake

Update:

Waldo's appetite has drastically improved! He now eats around 15 crickets a day and would eat more if I would let him!

His eye still does appear to have something in it though, but looks alot better. So, I'll keep flushing that out.

His color and grip has improved and he has grown noticeably.

I rarely hear him make popping sounds, and never see him blow bubbles. Although he still does a squeak every now and then.

So, he is still on the right path and is on the way to being healthy :D.

Thanks everyone, couldn't have done it without all of your guys' support and advice.

-Jake

I'm so glad that he's doing better. 15 is allot of crickets. What size are they?

They are small for him, and they are about 1/4 an inch. Is 15 too many? Should I cut down? I figured 15 should be good as I think these crickets are a bit too small. I will definitely cut down the amount as the crickets grow.

Well, today I saw Waldo deliberately eat the sand from my plant. Am I missing something in his diet? Is he doing this because he's hungry; I hadn't hand fed him yet as I was trying to get him to eat from his feeder bowl. It is a fine play sand, how bad is it for him to eat some? Is sand too coarse? Would it do internal damage? What should I do about this?
