gut loading question

I have a cricket box, my sweet heart of a husband made me, to support my new world of cham hobby. On day 2 owning a 3month old male veiled cham. Do I gut load the day I feed him or just feed my crickets everyday gut loading foods and just throw them in to my cham? I put a feeder cup with 2 mealworms in it and told Mike (FLCHAM were I got him) Mike became upset to hear this, so I took it out. I have live plants in my out door cage and put the crickets in the plants pot. My cham is eating fine this way. First cham ever!!! on day two, any advise will be welcome, Thanks Mary

I personally gutload my crix/roaches/superworms with the good stuff the night before I plan to feed them off so they have a nice belly full of good stuff. I have never cupfed though I may try it when I start feeding more roaches as I hear they hide well, I usually handfeed a few feeders then put the rest in so my girl can hunt the rest.

Thanks, sorry, but trying to understand, what do you feed the crickets, roaches, ect. on days they are not cham food? as I get a weeks worth of crickets at a time. I just live 2 miles from a pet store that sells them.

I always feed my crickets/feeders good gutload/fruits and veggies high in calcium and other vitamins so I know they are good to go whenever I need to feed. If you do a search for a member names sandrachameleon she has a blog about the nutritional facts of many easy to get gutload items.

As for gutloading. I use a dry gutload that my vet makes, it's kind of like the Cricket Crack. I feed my feeders all kinds of good stuff like collard green, kale, butternut squash, apple, orange and carot. Then the night before I pull the feeders that I'm going to feed off the next day and put them in a special container with the dry gutload. They eat it all night long and then when my chams eat them the next day they are getting plenty of nutrition from their food. It makes your dry gutload last a long time and all the fruits and veggies that I mentioned above are good to give your feeders, too.

gut loading

I have parrots that are breeding(greys). I have to cut up and feed fresh fruit & veggies everyday. I have been giving this to the crickets along with greens and potatos. Is that good enough or should I do more on the day I use them for food?

you could probably leave out the potatoes they dont rly help ur cham
