Hammy and Ivy Baby Thread

Hey there. Didn't realize we had a page to put our babies pics from Jannb's adoptions. Here are a couple of the ones we just got a few weeks ago. Named the girl Rosie and the boy is Sarge. They are both pigs when it comes to feeding time. They get a small salad a couple of times a week along with Repashy Banana Cream Pie pudding and a variety of sizes of crickets, occasionally a mealworm and a butterworm from Josh Frogs. They are fed Repashy Bug Burger and Calc Plus dusting. We take them outside every other day and let them climb on small trees and bushes. They seem happy enough and don't even bother each other when meeting. They both have 2'x2'x4' housing with timed misters and dual lighting. One I built myself and one was bought.
Congrats!!!! Both are adorable. Welcome to the gang!

Just fyi I would consider removing the repashy Banana cream pie. This does have added vitamins to it. Even Vitamin A and D3. Both are fat soluble and both can cause issues for chams if over dosed. Also fruit is pretty controversial to feed regularly in the hobby because their bodies are not really made for it. Higher in sugars so it can cause long term issues.

Careful with the butterworms. They have been known to cause allergic reactions in chams.

Kassie just waking up this morning.

Sarge is looking very handsome and Rosie is turning into a beautiful lady. It's really nice to see and be able to flow all the kids as they grow up. Thank you for posting them. Be careful with letting them meet up because they are old enough to mate now and it can happen very quickly.

I recommend using small superworms instead of mealworms. Mealworms are hard for them to digest. I also quit using butterworms when they turned one side of my Frankie’s face black and it stayed like that for a long, long time. Silkworms are excellent feeders if you can get those and of course they always love their crickets.

Just want to post pics of the gang...all growing so fast and all different personalities. Thankfully they are all silkworm addicts so I can get them out of their cages to clean. Currently prepping bug out cages for hurricane season...hopefully I won’t have to use any of them lol. ??
