I shot it with my camera in one hand and the cricket in the other. When I get a chance I will get my other camera out and shoot around 2000th of a second and try to get about 8 frames. I will need to find someone willing to hold a cricket.

Yeah that is probably how i would do it. That way everything is in in focus. And i can just let the shutter fly.
