Hand feeding warning

So last Thursday I was hand feeding my veiled dexter. Had the roach at eye level. Well when he shot it I got juice or powder in my eye. By Thursday night was little puffy. Woke up Friday eye looked like I done been punched in eye repeatedly. Went to er. They scared me by saying could be salmonella or something like that in eye and could lose sight in eye. Did test couldn't find out what was. So they prescribed stuff to put in eye and gave me a referral for eye specialist. Went there and they checked eye and prescribed something different for eye. Told me should clear up in few days. So today my eye is almost normal again and doesn't hurt. I did flush when happened. But for now on will make sure I hold then further away from face for now on.

Hazards of hand feeding chameleons.... so glad your ok.

hmmm, like the time I found myself in the ER to extract a cricket that ran into my ear and got lodged deep inside. Kind of embarrassed explaining to the doctor what happened. But they knew exactly what to do because this happens all the time (!?!?!??!) Apparently it is most often with cockroaches when people are sleeping (double !?!?!??!). This was the first cricket. So, yeah, I am a bit of a trend setter.

So, my reaction to crickets jumping out of the feeder cup and running up my arm has never been the same since.

I don’t think I’d handle very well having any insect in my ear. I’d probably try sticking pointy things in my ear to kill it and remove it, and that wouldn’t end well. 😳
well, there was a whole lot of drama between the cricket crawling in and the end result of it dead and lodged in my ear. There was a symphony of expletives that turned to pure art when the darn thing actually bit me and there were attempts to drown and entice and then topped off with swearing again. I can guarantee you that there was a whole lot of the story left out in order to save me from embarrassing myself.

They think it was that or something roach had on it.
