Hey, I have a male vieled chameleon, about 4 months old, iv had him a week tomorrow, he's very active and a fiesty lil guy, but I need help in handling him, he has calmed down on the hissing but will still open his mouth at us any time we try to get him out of his Viv, we're trying this free ranging with him, by leaving the door open and bringing a branch out to a plant we have outside the cage, he starts to come down but rarely actually comes right out. I want to be able to take him out at times so I can clean ect... Any advice would be appreciated :). Ps... Iv tried hand feeding and he doesn't take it so we cup feed but he eats very well!

It sounds to me like your trying all the proven methods. It takes time. Keep trying the hand feed and free range IMO these are the two best methods to losing him a bit. I've had my male veiled for 6 months an he still doesnt let me pick him up. He will hand feed and free range. Just like u I put a ladder across to a plant and he will come out. Getting him back in is a different story. Try opening it up and staying in a spot wher he can't see you. My guy deff. Seems to losen up when he comes out of his cage. Also try hand feeding his first feeder in the am when he's most hungry.

I'm sorry I don't know what IMO is? Tbh it annoys me that he will let my partner pick him up, but not me. He will hiss at him but eventually my partner seems to get him out, I still haven't done that! Yeah ur right once he's out getting him in is a different story lol! We're going away in 7 weeks and he us staying with my sister and her partner so I'm kinda trying to get him as tame as possible ASAP! Very ambitious I know but it's worth a shot :) also I see people taking there chams out in the sun, I want to be able to manage this. Any tips on that?

Also he shed on Friday and has spent the whole of today brown, is that normal? He seems happy, very active, big appetite. Yesterday he was very bright all day it's only today he's stayed mostly brown
