Hard Piping for MistKing Setup??

Hey just wondering if anyone has tried to use copper tubing to run a mistking. I am currently using clear poly tubing that I got from ace hardware since I bought the mistking second hand.

When the pump turns on the tubing move around a lot and makes a nice amount of noise bouncing into things. I think it would be cool to run the whole setup with copper tubing. Has anyone tried this yet?

never tried it. but you could attach the pipes to walls, and run the poly tubes through it..l

if you secure the misting hose with 1/4" hose clips you can get rid of all the rattle.

I'm going to try the hose clips for now. But since I'm redesigning my whole setup I would like to test out copper tubing ill post up the results when everything is done.

any 1/4" tubing (plastic or metal) would work


however, if the only reason you are considering this is for the rattling, the simplest solution is to get piping insulation foam and just put that around the bumpy parts (I dont know technical term, its round foam cut to the shape of tubing/piping meant to insulate it)


Alternatively, in my case there was only a little bit of hammering so I just took a few pieces of regular styrofoam I had around and just put it where it rattles

you don't need copper tubing, it will be silent and rattle free as soon as you secure the tubing. I'd advise you to upgrade your tubing to black opaque instead of the clear.

The black tubing can be purchased at most hardware stores, and the kind youll find there is much stiffer than comes with the system(IME). Copper would work, but you would have to mount the copper as well, and the jarring of a sturdy system could do damage in my mind, where as the flexible tubing allows for movement.

I have made my own hose clips, and its very easy to do so.

I used industrial strength velcro, the prickly side, cut it into a short strip, then folded it sticky side down onto itself around the tubing, then putting a screw through the excess, it works awesome, and only takes a few seconds.

If you mount the MK tubing, it will be silent, and not shake at all.

RO water being used for drinking shouldn't be put into contact with metal. It is a very small amount, but the metal can leach into the water.

RO is void of minerals so it's very aggressive solvent and wants to dissolve any minerals it comes in contact with
