Hi. How are you guys.
I am new in this forum and in the chameleon world.
I don't have any chameleon yet, but I expect to buy one soon. I have been studying on internet about them. But I want to know where can I found good information about which is more easy to start? Where can I buy one? It is better buy small or adult? Can I buy a couple? (Female and male). I need to know a lot of thing before buy my little new pet.
Thanks for your answer and your help..

A good place to start is the "Resources" link above below the Chameleons Forums logo top left.

Browsing the Health Clinic forum has revealed some (not good) patterns in early chameleon ownership, myself included.

It is probably best to plan to start with a solitary animal, not a pair. If you do end up with a pair you don't want siblings anyhow, so no real reason to buy them together (assuming captive bred).

I made the mistake of buying from a pet store (petsmart) because I was also very new. I say mistake because the enclosure is literally just a display case and does not meet the requirements for a chameleon. As soon as i got him he had problems (with his eyes, still does sometimes) and we don't really know what caused it but it could be the environment he was in for a month before he was in my care. Don't get me wrong, the staff is beyond amazing and even kept him in observation for a week when he was not eating... I missed him terribly!
They were very knowledgable and friendly, but the store just didn't does not provide the best of enclosure :(

Anyway, I love him and he is doing much better but I have learned from many things I have read online (and youtube videos) to buy from somebody with good reviews, or a reputable breeder :) no more pet stores for me lol

Thanks
