Hello Leon

well im going to try and say this in the nicest way possible. everyone here is trying to help you but if you dont do what they are saying and try and get around it than it does annoy some people here because you arnt actually helping your chameleon get what it needs. i dont think it is fair to the animal to say its not your fault its the pet stores fault because of the information they gave you. it is your responsibility to do your research before buying an animal because if you dont and you do it while you have the animal the health of that animal is slowly declining while you are trying to learn. when you dont have the money to get everything your animal needs at that time then i dont think you should have bought the animal because once again it goes back to the health is slowly declining while you try and get everything that it needs. so now that you have rushed into buying another one you are going to fall right back into the same hole you were in before because you dont have the money to care for it. i try not to chim in much on this because i dont know all of the information like all of these wonderful people do. i did help you a bit with the misting questions because i felt i could actually give you good information on that but you really need to listen to all of these people trying to help you and realize they are trying to help you not be mean to you but it does get on people nerves to see someone neglect an animal. i get you may not realize you are neglecting it but a chameleon is a lot of work and honestly a lot of money its not a cheap pet by any means. thats my 2 cents i hope you dont take it the wrong way.

Fine I'll just take it back then

Right from the caresheet:

Supplementation:
Calcium and other vitamins are very important to your chameleon's health. Feeder insects should be lightly dusted with powdered supplement before being fed to your chameleon. Many keepers successfully use calcium (without D3 or phosphorus) at nearly every feeding, multivitamin once every 2 weeks, and calcium with D3 once every 2 weeks.

Cheers my friend!
This is what I have for powders, I even saw someone one here with the same exact ones that they told me to get :)

For a drain pan, home depot sells washing machine drain pans for around $20, and includes a bulkhead, so it can be diverted into a bucket or pan. I did the reverse. I drilled holes in the bottom of the cage, elevated it on legs [or bricks or blocks or wood] and put an aluminum pan underneath [empty daily], with the entire setup sitting in the washing machine drain pan to prevent leakage.
I used this

Both sources of calcium contain vitamin D3, which will harm you Veiled if used more than required [once every two weeks]. You need calcium without D3.

Yes, calcium without D3. [not multivite] D3 is a vitamin too, but you need daily calcium without D3 as per the caresheet. I had to read the caresheets a few times myself! :)

I think you should take it back and get everything you need 1st, get the enclosure set up properly and learn a whole lot about chams before you get another one again.
well i just ordered the without d3 right now online that's coming Wednesday and i can go get live plants tomorrow

See it's not easy to take care of a cham and it takes a lot of learning. The responsible thing to do is to learn 1st. There's a lot of highly educated people on here that have had to look at the information and ask lots of questions 1st BEFORE getting a cham. They also has everything set up ready to go and had monet saved up in case it got sick. I've spent 1000s on my chams because they have the best of the best. They're all heathy because of it too.

Hi SplKe6535! Congrats on your new chameleon! He is cute!
I was seeing a lot of good info from a lot of pros, although some comments seemed a little sharp. o_O Don't let this discourage you from using this awesome forum if you have any doubts or questions!!!
Just follow these instructions from members of CF and your chameleon will do fine. I do recommend doing a quick research project to get yourself more informed on this topic. Also consider doing some of these project (such as the draining system) to allow your cham to be comfortable! Do not feel like you are underestimated for your age here, you are not! Just be informed and the comments you post will not be overlooked. I know this from experience (and because I'm also a young member here). ;) Enjoy the forum and your chameleon!!!
