Hi all!

Every morning ( for the last 6 weeks - as long as ive had her ) she climbs to the top of her viv and lies on her side on the top branch!

She is still holding on with her tail and feet.

She lies so she is exactly under the light and every so ofter she will switch sides!

Once i give her her morning spray she stops doing it and will potter around as normal!

What is she doing? Is this normal?

Yes its good behaviour she's warming her body in the morning rays to get her body working at the optimum temps...

Oh great! Phew!

She has stopped eating at the mo too but from what ive read on here that is normal - especially if they are stressed!

Hope she eats soon - its making me stressed!

Well, at first she was shedding - for 2 days - which i know can put them off food sometimes.

Then her shed just didnt look right to me so i took her to the vets - he did say that the journey and her exam might stress her out.

I think she has eaten 1 or 2 locust in the last four days - she normally eats 12 -15.

She is still drinking ok tho - plus she is still shedding.

She should be ok jus keep humidity up while the shed is going on ..Do you have any pics of chameleon and enclosure ??

:dester does the same thing

but at night like he is cuddling up to the branch!! Its funny
im glad that it is normal!!

Thermoregulation at it's finest. :D
My little panther does that at least several times a day - makes himself look twice as big, totally flattened out and gets dark coloration to absorb heat.

George does that. I was wondering what he was doing. I thought he was heating up. I thought it looked like he was trying to get a tan. :) He looks so silly when he does it!

Maybe you could adjust your basking light at an angle so it dosent need to play twister to thermoregulate. I had to slightly adjust mine as he grew because he could no longer
easily bask without really odd and alarming looking positions, just as you describe. :)
