HELP!!! Female not laying her eggs.

Having a problem. My female Veiled hasn't laid her eggs and she's getting big. What do I need to do to help her???? I have a tub full of play sand and she keeps crawling over it but nothing. Do I need to do something else????

I can actually see the egg bumps on her sides. Do I need to take her to the vet?

How long has she been like this? Sometimes chams can get eggbound, which requires a vet visit. they give her a shot of oxytocin and sometimes calcium to get her started. sort of like enducing her.

She has been pregnant for atleast 3-4 weeks.

Has she gone off her food? how big is she? May want to do a vet visit, however, I am not sure how long it can take form the time they are receptive, to the time they lay.
Was she bred? or is this an infertile clutch?

She was bred with my male. She is still eating but today she was kind of timid about eating. This is her first time.

I suggest getting a large trash can, turn it into a laying bin, put a few branches in it and put her in it, then leave her be. SOmeone on here had a similar problem with their female panther, she wouldnt lay, but when she had nowhere else to go and nothing to distracrt her n the large bin, she layed wihin 20 minutes.
its possible shes just not ready yet, or its possible shes eggbound.

Thanks, I'll try that. Should I pull the lights off of it while she's in the can?

Prob keep the uvb light, but thats it. make sure you dont look in on her.
Side note- once you do he larg can, and wet the sand down, start a hole for her. not much of one, jsut enough that its there, like punch a fist thru it some, sometimes this can help her start to dig also.

Maybe your girl is just lazy? :p

Here's a pic of her.

Here's a pic of her.

She looks pretty big. id say, do the large can, give her a day or so, and if she doesnt start to lay, take her to tvet. dont wait too long, cuz if she becomes eggbound she can die.
Personally id prob take her now, but you also dont want to force her to lay if she isnt ready to yet.

Will do. Thanks for the help. Going to do a can and if she doesn't lay by Monday I'll take her to the vet.

try dirt not sand

try to use dirt, and start a hole for her. this might make her thing to start digging. i have all most a 1 1/2 old and i thing that she has eggs too but i cant see any. i was reading this in a book i got. i am going to try it, maybe it will help you too. good luck and if it works send me a email.

Well she finally started tunneling today. She escaped twice out of the trash can the last 3 days. Loose for over night once and 3 hours the next lol.

Thanks for all the help. She laid her eggs yesterday. I pulled them out today and she laid 22. Here's a pic. I'm so exited!!!
