Honesty without compassion is brutality. No, they are being blunt. I hope the OP listened.
That quote has no idea the definition of brutality. However eloquent it sounds, it reminds me that all “snowflakes” melt.Honesty without compassion is brutality.
Being blunt/harsh and to the point is good sometimes because it is a living animal and if we choose to keep this magnificent creatures they are at our mercy to be cared for right. I think you’re right. That quote has no idea the definition of brutality. However eloquent it sounds, it reminds me that all “snowflakes” melt.
Post is from 2017, don’t feel bad I bit too!Even though what everyone has said is correct you can’t knock the person for wanting to have chameleon for display and to observe. Yes the enclosure is a bad setup and was told completely wrong information just to make a sale which is horrendous in the first place. I agree with everyone on here but we can’t scare the person off from this community or scared to ask questions in the future. Everyone starts somewhere and just think back when everyone started with their chameleons and not everyone knew everything there was to know moreless but most did research the answer is yes. I would be more hard on the pet store that didn’t know proper husbandry and care than the person that bought the chameleon. I just can’t believe that the people said sand for a Yemen Veiled chameleon would be fine. You don’t use sand with any animal besides an adult bearded dragon and even that’s questionable with the information now. And yes months of preparation after research. Gut loading feeders to setting up the the enclosure property what to do and not to do by research. Setting up plants the proper safest ones that we know of that are “safe” even that should be researched more. The hobby is a very time consuming and expensive one if you are going to do it right that’s true I agree totally.
