Help! Leaky herpmist

I just setup my herpmist system, but I'm having trouble and I hope somebody can help me. It seems that water flows through the reservoir bulkhead whether the pump is on or not. Then when the pump is on, water leaks at every connection. I have a very short tube from the reservoir to the pump (4 inches maybe?), then a T junction connected to the output with a 3 foot length of tube out one side and a 5 foot length of tube out the other side. Water drips out of every junction and out of the nozzle on the 3 foot length (the other one is elevated, so I don't think the water makes it up the tube).

I've read over the instructions several times and I can't figure out what I must be doing wrong. I even saw that video somebody posted on youtube demonstrating installation. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

are you pushing them in all the way at each connection and are the cuts straight and even? mine never leakes at any connections unless i connect them wrong

Yeah it feels like they're all the way in and the cuts look straight. Even the ends of the original 25 foot length have leaks, so I don't think that's the issue. D:

When I first got my Herpmist the water would drip from the reservoir bulkhead too but it would drip REALLY slow.. Like a drop every 2 mins..

So I placed a container to catch the water.

After refilling the reservoir 3 times it stopped. I don't know why though.

Remember to push in VERY HARD, ALL THE WAY when you can't really push it in any more.

After you push in really good, you can try and pull it out, and it should not come out.

There is no way you can get a leak at the connections. It must be that the tube is not in all the way.

Again, it MAY look and feel that it is in all the way, when in reality it is not...

Give it another try!!

Roberto.

I'm with Mesnik. You have to put some force into it. Push it in until you can't push no more. As for the bulkhead... Is it leaking from the bucket or the end of the bulkhead where the tube goes in? If it's the bucket you either over tightened the bulkhead or didn't tighten it enough. Did you use a spade bit for your drill when you made the hole in the bucket? If not you wont get a perfectly round hole and water could escape.

Yeah you guys were exactly right! I didn't want to manhandle it, because I usually break stuff like that (and I'm a computer technician, so a little finesse can save a lot of money lol). But yeah, it's actually really nice how it snaps in! And after seeing this baby in action, I can say it's without a doubt the best thing to happen to herp husbandry! Time is money and this thing is going to save me hours each day! I still have a tiny leak, but I can live with that at least for now... it might even be from the reservoir, since that I DID manhandle and crack lol. But I sealed it with a pretty thick coating of aquarium silicone.

Thanks again guys, I was flipping out, but this baby's working beautifully now and my chameleons love it!

Glad to hear!! It is an awesome tool to have! Chams love it, and there is not too much work on our end!!!!

Thanks for covering for me, guys! It's been a loooong weekend with the show and not getting back until 3am last night. Unlike someone on here, I actually went to work today. :)

Yeah, you have to push the tubes in pretty well. Remember, it has to stand up to 100 pounds per square inch of pressure, so the steel locking teeth that hold it in place and the o-ring that keeps the wet side wet and the dry side dry have to fit really well.

What's still leaking? If you cracked the bulkhead nut, I can send another one out to you, no problem.
