Put it in the shower, for at least an hour, on a branch or vine. Call a vet immeadiately. It sounds very bad, and likely past the point of saving.

Good luck,
Leland

That all depends on your vet. Most here charge roughly $120 just to see an animal after hours or by emergency. I don't want to scare you, but be prepared to spent at least $200 or more. Saving Chams is a kind thing to do, but also very expensive.

Good luck,
Leland

Ing thus crazy I thank you so much for the help I'm so stressed I'm keeping it moist I have been up all night but he tries to drink the water it's like he dosnt know it's hanging out and it's bad I'll get pictures up I'm trying to figure out how to upload one I have home in a 2.5 gallon with a soaked wash cloth a 13w UVB and 50w heat lamp anything else I can do ?

That chameleon needs to be to euthanized. It is just suffering. With its tongue out like that I don't know what else to say but please end its suffering.

That's why I came here how do I come by that so he's way past saving even with a vet ? I'm going to try to help him alitle he got it 3/4 way in a Litle while ago

Is there anyone in the si area please after hand feeding him 2.5 weeks this is how it ends I guess I'm so upset right now how much if I take him to get put down ? I'm devistated

If it is able to get its tongue back in just make sure it is not swallowed.

I hope others will chime in with their opinion.

He's very active I feel he would make it if it wasn't for the tunge can he live without it I seen that on google not sure how true it is? He keeps butting it I'm scared it's going to fall off

The kindest way I know how to euthanize it at home is to wrap it in a small towel, so it feels comfortable, and then place it in the freezer. This may sound horrible, but I know of no other way to do it in your position.

Just my advice, good luck,
Leland

I read up on that not as calm as people think I'm not even sure about that anymore I have been misting him and he's drinking it so maybe he will thrive without the tunge I seen it in a lot of cases on google what do you think I know if I go there he can be saved and I won't be able to put him down after hearing that I'm really just hoping to hear a local come on here and tell me what to do

I wouldn't freeze him. Chameleons don't really lose consciousness like we do, even with decapitation reptiles can go without oxygen for several long minutes (up to an hour in one report.) It's much more horrible for you but if you don't want to pay a vet to do it humanely the next "best" thing is to crush their heads in one fell swoop.

I'm really sorry you're in this spot and I'm sorry the little guy is doing so poorly. It's a complete and utter shame how these show vendors treat their animals sometimes. He was probably a wild caught that came into the country Thursday just in time for set-up time at the show.

The most humane thing to do in my opinion is to take him to the vet to have him euthanized. I would imagine you can do this for $100. I have never seen a chameleon come back from being that sick.

I doubt that it is painless, nor the best way to euthanize a chameleon. It was just a suggestion based on the situation. Even if the tongue would somehow tear off, there are many other things wrong with the Cham, and if money is short, euthanization might be the only option in this instance. Even with expert care and unlimited veteranary help, the Cham is sadly likely to pass.
