Help!!! Me!! ASAP

I am so sorry you lost your little one. It is so easy to get attached to them. If you look at a lot of the signature lines you will see that many people have lost beloved pets but were able to take in new ones, not to replace the one's lost but to honor their memory. I hope you will be able to do the same and good luck to you if you do. To Tapple, that is a very generous offer and you are right the females do need good homes too and God bless those of you who do make the extra effort to house the girls, it would be a limited hobby if people only kept males!

Tapple, we can help you sex if you want. They're sexable out of the egg, so by 3 months it should be nice and obvious.

I've been very upset about Charlie- and I feel so bad for you - I know you tried so hard- and I was so impressed by your dedication - but i think you should take your time in getting a new chameleon - you are what this hobby (can you call it a hobby?) needs in the future and I don't want you to become discouraged - I've heard from members here that doing reef tanks is harder than setting up for a chameleon and I know you can do that - so I don't doubt that you will do well especially if you take time to research - (you probably learned more in a week than some do in years)

Sorry, I can't guarantee a male. I didn't know that you wouldn't take one, not knowing the sex. The ones that are available to you are to young (3 months old), to sex right now. And most of the older 6 month plus males, are taken other then some hold backs. I do agree with you that the females need more care then the males, but they also need a good home to go to. Here is an attachment of one of my females. I wouldn't sell her for any amount of money. She has a bad eye and loves for me to massage it with hot water on my finger. It's a morning ritual. She usually runs onto my hand when I put it inside the cage.

I really don't mind but for my second time I think a male will be much easier and a female can be my second I have been considering free range since I already have a huge fake ficus with real wood if the leaves are a problem I'll rip them off I just have been reading up and it seems females are due to be egg bound and I have to worry about infertile eggs no matter what I don't mind this but feel it's better once I have experiance with a male for basic care thank you again sorry for the late reply you have been to kind to me and I appreciate that

Yes that's why I want a male it's like starting with fish and no coral I feel lost in this hobby lol I have a huge fake ficus can I use this for free range? Or as a playground when I'm around. Also I know a male has spurs is this only with vields? I don't mind a female but want to be prepared for this I don't want to rushi have everything but need to prep mentally and create a care ritual.

Figure out what you want and work toward that- don't rush into an "easy" chameleon if you want another flapneck- you may not be able to find a captive bred right away but they are around and you can prepare better while you wait- or you might decide on another kind- I'm not too worried about what kind you get when you get one - I know you will take good care of him- (or her) - check out the rest of the forum while you look around - there's a whole section on free ranges - what you use would depend on what kind of chameleon you get.

I am sorry to hear that your litle chameleon didn't make it. :( I know that you did everything that you could for him.
