After 45 minutes he has now stopped and is sat in his tree outside his Viv he only coughed up once I tried offering food but was more interested in being out in his tree

Could be something stuck in his throat....could be he ingested something he shouldn't have...could be a tongue issue...
I would get him to a vet if it persists.

He just started again so dripped so water and he's taken it he has a very very thin layer of soil that's hard compacted no of it has moved the only thing odd was the half a cricket on a leaf

Easier said than done unfortunately it's 9pm here and the closest reptile vet to me is 2.5 hours away and a £155 an hour for night visits which basically I cannot afford he is walking fine he has drank and the frequency of the think he is doing has reduced im going to wait till tomorrow see how he is and make judgement from thier he gets the right suppliments water humidity etc etc etc the only thing most folk disagree on is substrate but i have it because without it i cannot keep his humidity high enough even with live plants nodded screen top etc

Thanks everyone for their input and help it's I'm really helpful and can't thank this community enough

It could have been that he tried to eat some substrate too.
Hope you get it figured out.

There is that possibility I know but he hasn't coughed up anything and I've emptied his Viv to check the only thing is possibly one of the crickets was too big and he has either got it stuck hurt his throat or got substrate mixed with a large cricket
